Having released two of last year's great "lost" singles, London fourpiece Boy Kill Boy prove that they are like the musical equivalent of dog poop, in that wherever you go and whatever you're doing, you just cannot avoid them.
The fact that even the abominable Trent FM has been playing this record would suggest that 'Back Again' will succeed where 'Suzie' and 'Civil Sin' somehow failed.
If you've seen or heard Boy Kill Boy, it's pretty much the standard fare of their repertoire. The big Duran-meets-Ultravox chorus punctuates every verse like a Shakespearian diatribe about adultery, singer Chris Peck's vocal pronunciations being the most striking, prominent aspect of the band.
Although not quite as effective or catchy as either of its predecessors, 'Back Again' is a welcome antidote to saccharine-laced, reality television overkilled pop. Just don't call 'em the English Killers...

Haven't heard this yet...
But I quite like Suzie. No, not the girl... Well, maybe the girl also, so I hope this is, indeed, just as good.
absolutely hated
their FP single.
I don't expect anything from this lot...
My crappy old band played a gig with these guys
and now look at them. They got a massive crowd though. Generally live they were pretty good but overall fogettable.
Laydee in red...
Boy Kill Boy's lead singer has scary eyebrows that make him look like Chris de Burgh :|
mm big eyebrows
was a trend in bands.
How come this isn't available to purchase on itunes yet??
oh GOD
how i hate boy kill boy. they sound like embrace raping muse.
i don't see the appeal..
suzie is one great pop song but everything else is pretty average. they bore me.
Turd
on a stick. no, really.. give it to someone and they will get cholera.
Hmmmm,
Offspring of Chris de Burgh and the guitarist from Spinal Tap perhaps...
Boy Kill Boy...Should be killed...
(i don't mean actually killed but gotten rid of in some way)...Their chord progressions show very little musicality (blatant parallels all the way), their lyrics show very little knowledge of the english language, while their overall sound shows very little originality...Their favorite word is, quite clearly, CHORUS...
When it
should be 'refrain'
brilliant!
nah dude
i think boy kill boy are really good i herd them live on tha radio last week and they were really good and they all sound really down to earth
Indie people, in the beginning...
liked the bravery and then realised that they were shite...boykillboy are the same, only british, and with bigger CHORUSES...
let me quote:
Miss a sign this coast is clear it doesn't help, it doesn't help me...Who am i only, one more life so you can owe me, its civilised its sinilized (???) its...
Dont tell me you think those lyrics are actually thoughtful or worthy of our attention!!!
boy kill boy
are lame. its irritating that we're currently seeing a resurgence in the demand for guitar music from the mainstream, but poor bands like this one are the ones filling up valuable space and time. if that makes sense.
in the words of that streets guy "lets push things for-ward!"
Just admit it.....
.....it's a good song. Ok so it's very Bravery but can you really say you didn't tap your feet to any of the singles from an above average album?
Back Again has a verse that sets up the choursu so well that 30 seconds into the song it's already hitting you hard. The quiet section works well also as it leads delicately to the thumping bass lined chorus climax. Ok, maybe a bit over the top but as I said, just admit it, it's a good song.
if i said it was a good song
my growing nose would have the distinct honour of crashing into my monitor.
I
fucking love this song. I bought a ticket from the strength of it.
In the long term, they probably are boring. They're just an indie-pop band. They don't take themselves as anything more than that, evidently with the tunes and lyrics.
I'm surprised DiS doesn't have a mass hatred campaign for them already.
Boy kill boy
i absolutly love this song. the such a great band an all. i love songs suzie, six minuets, number one and friday friday there really great song. plus how nice is Chris Peck. their all down to earth. i think their album should go to number 1. i hope their gonna be around for a long to in the future.
BKB - breath of fresh air
To all those who are slagging off Boy Kill Boy, open ya ears you stoopid ignorant people and start actually listening to their music. Chris Pecks vocals are absolutely incredible, he has the most amazing voice and great style. All this crap about scarey eyebrows... GROW UP! This band own the stage, the best live band I have seen in years. Chris has the crowd in the palm of his hand. Shaz is the most visual drummer I have ever seen, he put heart and soul into each performance. Kev and Pete totally make the band, they are brilliant.... These fab four are gonna be even bigger and better. Civil Sin - the next release - is gonna rock the charts! Don't dis BKB.... they are bloody wicked!
