I heard about this band Teapicker from my friend who has a limited edition cd of theirs and they're great, like early Flaming Lips but with some great Jazzy flourishes. I heard they're from Northampton but that's all I know, so them, they're who I tip

Awsome band who seem to be adding something interesting to an already saturated genre. Personally i feel if they had reached the heights they have now a few years ago they probably would already be big news.

Saw them support Lightyear a couple of times, and then bought ' Soothing Away the Horrors of Indigestion '.

Last time I saw them I ended up down the front skanking away like a nutter. Not good for the knees at my age.

jetplane landing never seem to come close to fulfilling their potential. they have jawdropping moments but settle for far too much mundane stuff in between.

oceansize. i can't plug them enough. recognition is deserved.
eden maine - best hc/metal band in the UK right now, and consistently stunning live. fully capable of taking on the US if luck is on their side.
smother - saw them last night, and getting better and better.

Planes Mistaken For Stars showed off its new bassist at a house show in Denver last night (Nov. 2).

Chuck French made his debut as Planes' official bass player at a low-key house show in the band's hometown last night. French had been named as the replacement for Jamie Drier since this summer, though Drier didn't part ways with the band until August.

Houston 500 (as one learned chap has already pointed out). They kick the arse off every other band I've heard. Mashtun Grace and Wry are well worth a look too.

Taint are heavy and epic like Neurosis/Slint/Godspeed YBE, rocking like Clutch and aggressive like....y'get the picture...

The Czars deserve to be really popular. gorgeous country tinged melancholic rock fronted by one of the warmest and agile baritones i've heard. not normally my thing but they hooked me. oddly they don't seem to sell many records at all.

Lift to Experience too, if they ever release something new.

i need to see some new bands, haven't for a while living out here in the sticks...

I agree, Lift to Experience are one of my all time favourite bands. Are The Czars in a similar vein? I have mainly been listening to the above, Sparta, Interpol, Mew and The Mars Volta. Do you think they'd be my cup of tea?

This should be in my opinion, Alfie indie type british band that have released a few albums and have never caught on, but the new album is damned good. Also a totally new band from Ireland The Revs, I saw these in Clwb Ifor Bach at a Midasuno (they're shite) gig and though fucking hell these dudes are good, the music is really catchy you might know the single 'Death of a DJ' o'r you might not, but trust they're catchy poppy punky songs to enjoy.

I'd love to see Sigur Ros make it real big as i think they are the most groundbreaking band in the world. Also, in more of an indie way, The Argonauts as from the 2 songs i've heard, Daniel Fell is a good young writer and this country is short on them. I think Hope Of The States are the real ones to watch.
