DiS towers is currently beginning to put together a 'year in review' type feature of 2003, a month or so before it dies on its arse and coughs up all that soot santa will shake down the chimney.
We'd like to know...
1. Your top 5 gigs
2. Your top 5 albums
3. A moment/sentiment/quote you believe sums up 2003
4. Your favourite new bands of 2003
5. The worst thing about 2003, was...
We'll also be putting together an article all about hopes and dreams for 2004, but one thing at a time... infact, I'll start a different thread...

Re: Highlights of 2003?
Re: Highlights of 2003?

moment that summed up 2003 -
the ludicrous and brilliant spectacle of a headline crowd at 6 in the evening for the darkness's conquering of reading 2003
worst thing -
the seemingly high number of bands splitting up or losing members or cancelling tours this year... since by man, converge, mahumodo, six by seven to name but a few.

Gene Clarke's 'No Other' is best reissue.
Moment/sentiment/quote:
hopefully, the sheer force of the demonstration against Bush next week.
Favourite new bands...
Much as I'd like to say The Exploits Of Elaine, that'd be cheating (as I'm in them). So I shall say...

2. Mew (ditto)
3. The Postal Service
4. Amplifier
5. Redjetson
The worst thing about 2003 was...
the death of Johnny Cash, the continuing lurch to the right by New Labour and the situation in Iraq.
