Our beloved Yeah Yeah Yeahs are making a triumphant return to the art-rock scene with the single Gold Lion, and as they promised it would be, it's an exceedingly different sound from those dominating Fever To Tell.

Opening with an exceedingly catchy acoustic-style hook from Mr Zinner laid on top of the standard attention grabbing 'boomboom-tch' drumline, progressing into a squealing but groove-laden middle eight and these coupled with the easy sing-a-long lyrics, it's easy to see that Gold Lion will be one of the records to watch in the coming months. Karen O's frankly astonishing vocal capabilities are demonstrated particularly well in this track, ranging from the gravelly to the (worryingly reminiscent of Bono) "Ooh-ooh"s during the chorus.

As for the danceability of this track that we are so familiar with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for blessing us with, it has to be said that it is one of the more sultry, hip swinging, grindy types rather than the insane, do-the-dance-of-Eros-around-your-room tunes of tracks such as Date With The Night and Y Control.

This marks the dawning of a new era for the YYY's and I have a beautiful feeling that it will be another fantastic one.

This song is really quite good.

It's moody and it's sexy and has a good video. Ace return.

It's a great track from an ace band. I'm really looking forward to their new album.
