I'm looking for email adresses of people to whom to send advance copies of an album my label's releasing, in the general rock vein. where's worthwhile?

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

Yup, LOGO (www.logo-magazine.com) is a good bet for sure, and even covers unsigned bands. Comes With A Smile (.com) is a very slick print zine, but tends to concentrate on less-heavy stuff. If your music is, well, pleasant or inventive rather than just noisy, give them a try. Do Something Pretty (.com) is a decent website that some DiS writers contribute to, and Play Dead magazine (www.playdeadmag.co.uk) is a good, free print zine run by my mate Marc out of a teeeny bedroom in Hendon. But it looks killer. Concentrates on rock/hardcore/punk/emo stuff, so if that's your bag, give them a shout. Then there's stuff like Fracture (rock/punk - www.seanchai.dircon.co.uk), which is cool, Reason To Believe (???) and Diskant (.net). Diskant is really good, and I think it's just had a revamp.

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

Of course, you could send a copy to me, as I write for CwaS and LOGO when I'm not doing DiS stuff ;o)

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

Rancid News is a good widely available zine covering punk and stuff like that. Available from 'all ages' records in Camden (at least that's where I got my copy) and I've also seen them being sold at gigs. innit!

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

used to read organart alot...but they spelt everything wrong

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

I know this is rather late, but Fracture is no longer around.

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

Definately try the Repeat fanzine. (http://www.repeatfanzine.co.uk/) They are based in Cambridge but still know their shit. Always looking for new/good stuff.

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

It's not at all relevant to your request, but bring back 'Select'!

Re: what are the best 'zines in the uk?

I quite like soundsxp.com and pennyblackmusic.com
