was pretty reactionary. y'know you do the crime, you get completely and utterly fucked over until you do the the time type of thing.
the film itself had the potential to be as truly great as memento but it somehow didn't quite do it for me. still, good film. christian bale looks like he might snap in half any minute.
because i remember i was a bit depressed when i rented it, and it just made me feel even worse. and it was painful to look at such a skinny christian bale.
so is it worth me renting it again? i liked memento.
in their originl language !
For me, Memento tried to hard to have a different narrative structure but failed to tell an interesting story.
I haven't look to the DVD but the option to see the movie in chronogical order is totally stupid because the story is weak.
you are the first person that i have heard say negative things regarding Memento. I think it has a very strong, but purposly confusing storyline.
I have watched Memento 3 times in total. And each time i have got something NEW from it.
I think it is the work of genius. But that is just my opinion.
The Machinist although a brilliant film, is some what predictable. You could see what was coming halfway through. Memento had you guessing all the time.
in the hmv offer thing. i cant imagine it being as good as memento, as that is rather spectacular. but still i imagine it is worth it, when bought in a 3 for £20 offer
Probably the only war film that isn't either pony or massively overrated. Wicked film.... well what do you expect from the same bloke who did Das Experiment? Another overlooked treasure.
By the way, the most underrated and fantastic sitcom of all time is 15 Storeys High. Sean Lock is the bollocks.
really?
my flatmate told me it was shit.
however, i don't know why i believed her.
if you like memento
i think youd like it.
I thought it looked really good
I shall watch it.
i love memento
but hate the machinist
the only good thing about it is chrisian bale
i thought the ending
was pretty reactionary. y'know you do the crime, you get completely and utterly fucked over until you do the the time type of thing.

I dunno
I liked the ending, and don't want to say anymore incase it gives it away for someone planning to watch it.....
*spoiler*
The monster from lost is vanessa feltz
hahaha
give it away!
its a great film, visually stunning, if a little harrowing.
yeah don't tell the ending!!
i really liked memento so...
yeah
no point in watching it now really, you might as well go watch thundercats or some other shite 80s throwback
i never finished watching it
because i remember i was a bit depressed when i rented it, and it just made me feel even worse. and it was painful to look at such a skinny christian bale.
so is it worth me renting it again? i liked memento.
I liked it enough to make this thread
but then again, I like 'A'.
On it's own it is a brilliant film
but comparing it to the rather GOD-like Memento is silly. Memento is leagues ahead of this.
I
Have seen The Machinist but not Memento.
Which makes me a bit silly.
yes memento is
better.
but Its the only film I could think of to compare it with....
i don't think it's silly at all
to compare it to memento seeing as both films deal with memory and play around with the concept of a linear narrative.
I didn't really mean it in that sense
i was probably being slightly silly myself.
I meant it in the context of Memento being so much better that the machinist should be uttered under the same breath.
memento is boring...
Pseudo-intelligent movie.
The Machinist is interesting but i agree with accidental on the neding being quite reactionnary.
memento is ANYTHING
but boring.
sorry
it bored me !
something must have got
lost in translation ;-)
i always see movies
in their originl language !

Hmm

i'll wait till i'm in a better mood
i have complete series of 'spaced' at home.. how's that? and 'black books'. guess i won't be leaving the flat this weekend.
black books
YES
spaced
YES
buy booze and takeaway and invite me.
great
i'll definitely save some money this weekend.
have you seen that new space comedy (forgot the name) where their spaceship is called camden lock?
yeah
fucking shite isnt it. lots of people from good shows, spaced, peep show. but a big bag of ripe shite it is.
yep
it's dry.
The film freaked me out
I feel like some gang massaman chicken thai curry (sorry - just threw that one in!)
nice
i cook a mean massaman myself
my 2 cents
yeah it's good
i got this along with kung-fu hustle and downfall
in the hmv offer thing. i cant imagine it being as good as memento, as that is rather spectacular. but still i imagine it is worth it, when bought in a 3 for £20 offer
anybody seen downfall?, if so is it any good
yeah
its very good.
I'm good at this
Downfall

The Thin Red Line.
Awesome war film....
liked it when I watched it
haven't thought about it since. Apart from the weight loss aspect.
It was filler. But good filler.
