the film itself had the potential to be as truly great as memento but it somehow didn't quite do it for me. still, good film. christian bale looks like he might snap in half any minute.

because i remember i was a bit depressed when i rented it, and it just made me feel even worse. and it was painful to look at such a skinny christian bale.

but comparing it to the rather GOD-like Memento is silly. Memento is leagues ahead of this.

For me, Memento tried to hard to have a different narrative structure but failed to tell an interesting story.
I haven't look to the DVD but the option to see the movie in chronogical order is totally stupid because the story is weak.

you are the first person that i have heard say negative things regarding Memento. I think it has a very strong, but purposly confusing storyline.
I have watched Memento 3 times in total. And each time i have got something NEW from it.
I think it is the work of genius. But that is just my opinion.
The Machinist although a brilliant film, is some what predictable. You could see what was coming halfway through. Memento had you guessing all the time.

in the hmv offer thing. i cant imagine it being as good as memento, as that is rather spectacular. but still i imagine it is worth it, when bought in a 3 for £20 offer

Probably the only war film that isn't either pony or massively overrated. Wicked film.... well what do you expect from the same bloke who did Das Experiment? Another overlooked treasure.
By the way, the most underrated and fantastic sitcom of all time is 15 Storeys High. Sean Lock is the bollocks.
