every one "hit" wonder should start calling themselves by the name of teh song in question.
'hit' as in...
nearly 1000 people have heard it, you mean ?
as in the only tune of their's that i could possibly name
(and ive seen them live twice)
AND it was cross promoted with and in the soundtrack to brit-shit-flick Black Ball.
aamzingly they're playing in Paris
this month !
But they were offered a second-album deal by Barclay ( part of Universal )and didn't take it so they're quite 'big' in France...
they all live in france
why i know :(
Yes,
They're playing in Paris with DiS's own redjetson.
redjetson are palying too...
i might go then.
Can't believe this thread get so much replies...
it was pretty big here.
Hey Gravity is a choon. Do they still play it... the song that they... are?
I take it this marks
the bloke from dodgy (nigel?) leaving the band?
they played dodgy on Shipwrecked yesterday
dear lord, i thought i'd travelled back in time. played a whole load of other mid-90s indie "classics" as well.
In a room was good,
wasn't it?
I'll admit I haven't heard it for, ooooh, about ten years, mind...
Dodgy were...
...pretty much my favourite band of the time, but they managed to bury their genius (pop melodies for the indie sector without turning into Ocean Colour Scene) in so much superfluous publicity bumf that put people off (the press adverts, some of the videos...)
If they had ditched the forced 'cheeky chappy' stuff they'd be far better appreciated today than they are - it saddens me when people use them as a symbol of 'the bad old days' but I can understand why it happened. They deserve better.
Incidentally, I think it was Andy rather than Nigel in the band though...
This is good
I bought a cd of theirs thinking it was an album by 'The Mass', who are a metalcore band with a saxophone player. So it was somewhat disappointing. So a name change is a fine idea.
I think
that MASS were great. Went to see them twice in London and walked away each time singing their songs without ever hearing them recorded. I bought their album too which is fantastic.
The new stuff on the Hey Gravity page sounds fantsatic.
megaLOL
