Biffy, Oceansize, Kinesis, Reuben.. Can you handle any more rock? You better be ready... The next Drowned in Sound jaunt around the UK is coming atcha!

We're very pleased to announce SPAN, them GnR-munching-Ramones Norwegians as seen on the DiS tour with Biffy Clyro earlier this year, headline our tour in June.

Main support for the bulk of the dates comes from Welsh Trail-of-Dead-beating-up-Les-Savy-Fav-disco-artpunkers Jarcrew who recently signed to Gut records.

We're just a wee bit excited about this.

June

11th Cardiff Barfly + Jarcrew
12th Nottingham Rock City + Jarcrew
14th Glasgow King Tut's Wah Wah Hut+ Guests

More TO BE CONFIRMED 17th-22nd, to be announced next week!

Oh and the image above is of the crazy Span singer man, drowning in his speaker, at our Underworld launch night on 03/03/03. See more of Ian Miller's pictures @ rocktography.co.uk/disunderworld.

DiScuss: Who should do the next DiS tour? [we do promise they'll be a lot more diverse from now on.] Are SPAN the greatest live band in the world right now? Wanna arrange to meet up with fellow readers? Get talkin'...

DiS UK Tour #5: SPAN + JARCREW

I'm glad Jarcrew got signed 'cause they're ace, but they should be careful - Gut have been known to fuck their acts around quite a bit. YEAH!!!, though. YEAH!!! What are Span like?

Re: DiS UK Tour #5: SPAN + JARCREW

oh my GOD, dude. what are span like?!?

gaaaaah!!

come to the underworld on june 10th. coooomme to the uuuunnnnderrrworrrrrrlllld......

in short, they're awesome. aerosmiff meets stones meets soundgarden meets some other really good LOUD stuff, with riffs that go "duhhh dk-dk-dk *DUH-DUH*... *DUH-DUH*..." and some mentalist stage antics thrown in for good measure.

They sound like people who would wear bandanas. They occasionally wear bandanas. They strangely look cool as fuck. It's punk rock for houseparties made by cherubs. With songs about shopping in "the rock store" and having aliens living in your head and the world around you being a fuck off hurricane. Oh and some non-cheesy bits about the greatness of girlz!

*Strikes a rock pose!*

Right,OK, now if you want 'live and diverse' try Nameless somewhere on the tour. They'll blow you away. If you're in the area on Wednesday, June 4th go to the Buffalo Bar in Islington and see for your self.(if you do, buy 'The French'a drink it's his birthday!).They are on about 9pm (I think).D in S should be there to judge for themselves. Once they do, I'm convinced you'll want to have them tour at some time.
