Have you ever been lost in Venice? You know the feeling, you are walking up yet another alleyway, trying to pretend you know where you are and where you are going, walking past fellow travellers scratching theirs heads and looking at the map, only to get to yet another dead end. Ui's latest album 'Answers' is the musical equivalent of that experience. Each track pleasantly takes you on a journey you have never travelled before, weaving through a maze of sounds, rhythms and percussion only to end just as you are starting to get your bearings. Ui explore areas similar to other Southern artists such as Billy Mahonie, both seemingly ending up in the same instrumental area, but taking slightly different routes.

It has to be said Ui like to keep words to a minimum. Their name alone must be one of the shortest out there (excluding X & A), they are instrumental and their longest song title on Answers is Get Hot Yo Bum. But worry not, those who love to read and sing along to the lyrics sheets. Answers is an encyclopedia of minimal, experimental, fondling and downright funky tunes. Imagine if you will a raucous three-some consisting of Billy Mahonie Robert Fripp and say.. um.. um.. someone really funky. What do you get? Something indescribable in words.
