Sub Pop-signed noise-bastards Wolf Eyes hit the UK like some kind of missile from Mars this Spring. You'd be foolish not to get along and let them mould your mind into the shape of a bacon buttie before chomping on it like hungry pigs do drugged and bound men.
Oh my GOSH look at these DATES:
April
13 Brighton Concorde 2
27 Edinburgh The Venue (Triptych Festival)
28 London Electrowerks
29 Nottingham The Social
30 Glasgow Barrowlands with Aphex Twin
May
1 Manchester Jebez Cleg
2 Newcastle Cluny
3 Leeds Brudenell Social Club
DiScuss: Wolf Eyes were the last band to make me feel physically sick during a gig. True fact. How 'bout you?

...the big gap between the brighton and scottish dates could mean more dates to be announced?

brighton date is
wolf eyes vs the bug.....which could be freakin awesome. or terrible of course...
also quite a fan of 'jebez cleg'...sounds like a character in a thomas hardy novel, more than a venue

wolf eyes vs the bug...not sure how it'll work but wolf eyes are shiiiiiiiit
in 1997 I saw Radiohead at Gloucester Leisure Centre (oh the glamour)
and the bass vibrating through the floor when they played "Climbing Up The Walls" made a couple of my friends run off and vomit somewhere. It was Awesome.
At ATP the Christmas before last
They opened the weekend on the small stage downstairs. It was the most physically damaged I've ever felt at a gig. I was in shock from the volume and the sheer barrage.
And you should have seen the looks on the faces of the weekend bar staff. Priceless.
They were surprisingly tame at the ICA last year. Maybe they're mellowing with age.
ha
that was one hell of a set indeed
ATP set was awesome
I remember leaving and not being able to talk for ages, totally blew me away. At one point my ribcage was rattling, I thought I was going to fall apart. And then it was Lightning Bolt afterwards. Mind fuck.
Yeah anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing them again. No pain, no gain and all that.
ATP - Wolf Eyes then Lightning Bolt
An awesome opener to that weekend. Wolf Eyes were truly frightening, like the theme tune from hell. And you're right about the Pontin's bar staff - their reactions were funny - all looking at each other and shaking their heads - think they thought they were going to have to endure an entire weekend of bowel-churning avant-garde noise...
Lightning Bolt really did it for me though - incredible. So spontaneous, thrilling. I actually got to see them as people cos at their previous ATP gig they were swamped by the audience.
Thought the Chapman brothers didn't quite go the extra mile with that ATP (unlike Shellac who really set the standard), but that was still an amazing opening two sets for the festival...
