Eagles Dump The Man

The old rockers responsible for 'Hotel California' and 'Desperado' are set to soar [groan - ed.] independently after years being on a major label. The Eagles spent many a year on Geffen and Elektra but will release new single 'Hole In The World' and the following album on their own Eagles Recording Company II label.
"We're bucking the system," says manager Irving Azoff (what a cool name), "We can release the record when we want, we can price it how we want, and we don't have a middleman taking 80 percent of the revenues."
Bravo!

Eagles Dump The Man
Yay, a few more multi-gazillionaire rock stars can finally avoid getting screwed by The Man! I mean really, are we suddenly supposed to buy the Eagles as good, honest rock 'n' rollers striking out on their own after decades of shameless commercial whoring?
Ah well, at least the new album is unlikely to be promoted well enough to clog up classic rock stations with godawful hit singles for the next three decades, unlike "Hotel California" (#2 on the list of albums I most regret ever buying)...-
Re: Eagles Dump The Man
Still, Johnny Cash's cover of 'Desperado' is lovely.-
The bloody original
is lovely. Lovelier I say.
