DiS-faves Miss Black America plus Antihero and new-punks on the scene Cultural Ice Age are touring in support of Love Music, Hate Racism. The tour is backed by Drowned in Sound, the Anti Nazi League and the trade unions, and each line-up will also feature at least one local band. As well as the tour, Miss Black America and Cultural Ice Age are releasing a split single on "ludicrous Yellow Vinyl" in support of Love Music, Hate Racism. The single, released on August 18th, will feature 'Reclusive Coma' by Cultural Ice Age and MBA's 'Drowning By Numbers'. The single will be released by R*E*P*E*A*T Records/Backs, who are also putting out a Love Music, Hate Racism compilation later this year featuring all three of the bands on this tour as well as TheDawn Parade, TheExiles, Kinesis, Corporation:Blend and more tbc.

Why don't they just play Burnley, Bradford, Oldham and Blackburn and then go back home?
What's more, the ANL are, to my understanding, just a bunch of misinformed students who don't really understand how complex the problems in these places are.

Point 2: The ANL are some of the most intelligent, informed, multi-cultural/age/sexuality people you will meet. They are passionate, equalitarianists who really have, and continue to make a difference.
On another point, by having three bands who breaks race barriers themselves, touring the country under a banner of loving music and hating racism - how can this not be anything but productive and exciting for the industry and music fans.

My problem with the ANL is that they generally seem to think that the problems in places such as Burnley, Oldham etc are invented by the BNP. No one would try to argue that the BNP don't try to exploit racial tension in these places, but they don't CREATE it themselves. A bunch of people going on about being anti-racist is not going to address the issues in these towns that make people feel the need to vote BNP.

I can see what you feel that the tour will 'do nothing', but I disagree. The more press we can raise about this issue the better. All we hear is how the 'far-right BNP have won another seat' but nobody seems to really now what they do, and why it's a tragedy that they are winning their way onto these councils.
The ANL are fully aware of the fact that the BNP don't INVENT racism in these towns, but the BNP DO give it a voice and attempt to gloss over the racism to give Britain a 'safe, all-white future' and it's sickening. The reason people feel the need to vote BNP is because they are tricked into doing so, for the reasons listed above.
