606

on bbc and 120 itv.

now and next forever

Beeb

302 obviously and 312.

C4 - 351 and upwards.

lol

THREAD OF THE DAY

PROBS

302 and then 324 if i need to check league tables.

How could i forget

338 on ceefax

the internet killed Ceefax

ah do you remember when Teletext on ITV was called Oracle? Ahh they were the days.

Is Bamber still churning out the Bamboozle quizes on Channel 4?

Didn't realise so many people had the same favourites

Ceefax - 102,302,324,328,501 & 530 - (although that's now a bit shit)
ITV - 301, 320
C4 - 351, 353 & 354

I'm worried that I knew all of them from memory.

C4 ceefax used to have some weird stuff - it must be about 15 years ago they had a teenager girls diary that you could only view between 8pm & midnight and it changed every day.

By the way

I love teletext, if you hadn't guessed

http://www.myspace.com/teletextuk

Mr Jonathan Pedantic writes...

...there was never Ceefax on Channel 4, cause Ceefax was the 9and probably still is) the BBCs name for their teletext service.

Fact!

i havnt done

one of those for a very long time. but i think he is indeed quizmaster at C4. the weekend kids version was always good for a laugh too.

I think it's still there

didn't bamber have a girlfriend too?

God Bless Bamboozle

would be a good band name, I think

hmm yeah, i'd go for 'now and next'

606/120 also.

in ireland i used to play quizzes on it, pressing green/red/yellow/blue... it rocked.

339 on BBC as well as 302 and 390. And then 102. And, then 160.

ITV, 401 and then 470. Probably 301 and 331. If I've got time, 540, and maybe even a cheeky glance at 495.

Though the page names start to mean nothing when you are looking at teletext through the Sky box

Analogue teletext is better

digital teletext has no soul

ooh yeah

i love being part of the 606/120 crowd! :D

and yes 351/352 on 4. 302 on 1 and 401 on 3. phew!

:D

i haven't had regular teletext-me-do for about four years now :-(

Id like to add

143 on bbc, on this day in history, always enlightening

and the problem page on c4 pg 368 (i think) was brilliant, but it went the way of the dodo

233 BBC2

Gotta check that Stock Market

143 is interesting..

id forgotten it existed, its been months since i last looked at it.

Moc Moc-a-Moc

Depending on how much time I have:

BBC - 302-312, 323, 338, 340, 359, 360, 390.

And I might check the sport on ITV as well so 400+

350+ of course on C4.

Oh, I couldn't find Dear Nick on C4 teletext today, have they got rid of it?!?

yeah

couple of months back, shame, i miss hearing how teenage grls are confused about guys in their maths class, i have to go and purchase Bliss now and i dont think i could stand the shame

This is a brilliant thread.

BBC 1 - 302, 316 (and other pages in that area, depending on news stories), 340, 341, 352, 390

ITV 1 - 401, 515

C4 - 350, 352, 354

And 606 on beeb

Anyone ever see the really late night teletext

when the page screws up into a ball and a guy in red overalls comes on, and carries it off, leaving a blank screen?

Seriously, this happens. Anyone seen it?

It used to be Planet Sound.

Now it's just 102 on BBC 1 & 301 on ITV

^

especially during Top Of The Pops.

ACE.

lots of fun during the news

live subtitling must be SO hard.

I am a

former Teletext employee.

Who wants to know the secrets of the company?

hell yes!!

does Bamber Boozle really look like that in real life?

i'll

revisit this thread this weekend when i've finished work and spill all about bamber boozle.

ANYWAY,

who;s seen the red guy in overalls who walks off with the teletext pages late a night.

He exists, I just want someone else to confirm this.

Moker - I remember that

he also waves at you doesnt he!

Wicked!

I think he might wage. He also has a ladder.

The rarely spotted red-ceefax man.

apparently

mega-zine is no more.

:-(

for some reason

even though i don't actually buy any games anymore, i like the C4 games pages. i think it's their sense of humour.

i HATE planet sound, they have SHIT taste and are anti-progress, the fuckers.

PS

is in fact one person. Top bloke, but has fads over certain bands. Last year was an obsession with Magic Numbers. This year looked as if it would be Pretty Girls Make Graves, but I think he's already questioning their longevity. (I'd have PGMG over MN any day).

There's hardly any journos left there, as most of the writing is fed through from a general news agency - would be surprised if the games page or even PS is around in 6 months' time. The company is apparently being put up for sale.

888

obviously....

Mine

326 on Ceefax, 120 on ITV, 352 on C4.
