The Brian Jonestown Massacre, best-known of course for that documentary film, are touring the country around their ATP appearance. If you go, wear a hard-hat.

Dig
the film, has anybody seen it? i want to after what my friend said. these guy's sound entertaining.
apparently they played to some rednecks for 10 hours...true?
i thought they were best known for being BRMC's bassist last band or did the film come after...
check me out im full of unreliable information
i've seen it
it's very funny in a very sad, real-life loser kinda way.
Ironically
the DVD I bought off eBay arrived today, which means I'll be able to tell you by about 2014 at current recently bought DVD viewing rates.
Dig!
Yeah the film is well funny... its like a cross between Jerry Springer and Spinal Tap.. aside from that there's some seriously great music. I've just found out that BJM are also on a comp with some other psych bands on Northern Star Records. I've just ordered a copy from their website. Can't wait to hear that...
i wonder
how many people will go just to heckle Anton and see what he does.
you might need more than a hard hat..
the badge looks like
"Massacre the Brian Jonestown"
and in the face of all this worthy information
theyre actually really really good if you listen to them. yeah! music!
BJM Psych Comp
I just bought a brilliant compilation featuring The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Its on a new British Label - check out www.northernstarrecords.co.uk
It also features many other great bands including The High Dials, The Lovetones, Bavarian Druglords, The Electric Mainline, Pioneer 4, Say Jansfield, The Bleeding Hearts, Spacegarden, Electric Prunes, Telescopes, Silver Apples, God Is An Astronaut and many more.
Highly recommended!!!
Last time I checked...
...they were giving away lots of their albums as free downloads on their website. He came across as an idiot in Dig! but some of the music is pretty good...
DiG was slanted...
Well, DiG was slanted in a particular way for a particular reason. ;-)
The main point UK peeps miss about BJM is that EVERYONE who plays w/ Anton comes out of it a MUCH better musician and goes on to form a really cool band. BMRC, the Lilys, the Black Angels (whose new CD Passover is THE buzz album in the USA right now), they're all great bands and we owe it all to Anton, who has incredible talent for picking out the right people.
I'd definitely recommend attending any gig near you.
And yes that Northern Star comp is great!
ain't that
a kick in the head
If one gets the chance,
one must ALWAYS experience BJM. Anton is incredibly talented and the music is fantastic. I saw them last year and will see them again in next month.
bjm
thank god for mental illness is truly a classic!
