It's a fucking good tune right? Come on, you know it, but you just don't want to admit it.

It is good, yes.
I don't mind admitting it.

Oh I still remember 'Regulate' with Warren G / Could I be back in the sweet summer of 1993? / It was a sweet summer's night on Hammer Hill"
-- A Sweet Summer's Night on Hammer Hill
me too
we are cool
its
ace. yes yes.
oh, it's BRILLIANT
love it. Everyone should read 'Have Gun, Will Travel' by Ronin Ro, about all of that music scene, it's excellent.
It is a great tune!!! I don't mind admitting it either
Ah, bring it back.
Is this the one that has the same sample as
Keepin' The Faith by De La Soul?
If so, it isn't as good as Keepin the Faith.
By De La Soul
It isn't
I remember this! I can appreciate the Bill Withers style backing. Nice.
Man, it rocks!
even better is
the cover by the Countryside Alliance Crew.
it's gabbacore with west country accents.
wow
yousendit?
i only saw it live, i'm afraid
just remember to go to Overkill events at Electrowerkz next time :D
best night out in AAAAAGES. apart from Afrirampo. Yes.
next time...
on the same note, a while ago on the radio I heard a cover of 'Straight Outta Compton' by the lady from Veruca Salt (I think). It was great - I need it!
ask robyn!
i got it from her.
:D
I'm happy now.
I played this
last time I DJ'd at On The Rocks. Because it is FUCKING ACE.
"Regulators
We regulate any stealing of his property
And we damn good too
But you can’t be any geek off the street,
Gotta be handy with the steel if you know what I mean, earn your keep!
Regulators!!! mount up!"
What a fucking great intro.
apparently...
arctic monkeys play this before coming onstage, or at least they did in cambridge on the nme tour..
No
not anymore
Nate dogg
can transform a hip-hop song. he's great on mos def's "oh no".
Has anyone heard the craig david 7 days remix with mos def and the dogg. based on the chorus of "oh no". makes a craig david song half good.
arctic monkeys
played "Xplosive" by Dr.Dre before they came on on their pre-nme thingy tour.
good taste.
Granted
Regulate is an overblown tune in my opinion; sure it's an inspired sample, but if you pay close attention to Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgetting" you soon realise that Warren G's production was non existent as he just looped over the beat. Lyrically, it's not a very compelling storyline, very run-of-the-mill in fairness, but Nate Dogg's hook is what defines this track for me. Just a shame his solo shit is, for want of better words... shit.
Now, if you peeps were to listen to either the GZA's Liquid Swords or Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... that = hip-hop personified. Peace!
