Brighton's biggest chart-bothering brothers announce new album and tour...

The Whites have been down to the legendary Abbey Road studios to master the follow-up to their debut album, last year's 'Holes In The Wall'. The recordings were largely made on analogue tape in Brighton, for an "unique, more personal 'real' sound."

'The American Adventure' will hit the streets on October 13th, with a single, 'Things I've Done Before', preceeding it on September 15th. The single will be a limited edition release, only available on 7" vinyl, with an exclusive track: 'Summer Slow Meander'.

The duo will also be conducting a small venues tour through September, with the intention to "get close to their fans." Bless.

SEPTEMBER

Tue 9th - London Camden Enterprise (acoustic set)
Wed 10th - Manchester Roadhouse
Thu 11th - London 100 Club
Fri 12th - Cardiff Barfly
Sat 13th - Nottingham Rescue Rooms
Sun 14th - York Fibbers (Barfly)
Mon 15th - Glasgow Barfly

DiScuss: Will ESP lead the country in an indie rock revolution? Or will they be lost in a sea of US-dominated garage rock bands?

Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

: Will ESP lead the country in an
: indie rock revolution?

not with a live show as lacking as their ashton court appearance they won't. more like a bunch of kids fcking around than a bona fide live show from a signed and written about act.

Re: Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

I was at that show too. Tom White's the better songwriter but all the bits where he came out from behind the kit were really dull. Mind you, didn't that bloke they brought on have an incredible voice?

Cheers,
Damian.

PS. The new single's good, though...

Re: Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

Alex and Tom were probably arguing over who got the top bunk/who had the nicer jacket/who got to have the last of the cornflakes

Re: Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

shame they neglected to argue over

song order
which songs to play
how to construct a decent set
whether bringing some bloke on to do 'comedy' covers was a good idea
getting someone who'd notice the bass wasn't coming through the PA to do the sound
anything to do with performance

really, cos then they might have been good. or at least worth the 5 pounds i paid. because shockingly, they weren't even worth that.

sad, cos i like the album, or the singles at least ...

Re: Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

Well, the first of the three covers ('Help!') was a little ill-advised, but there was nothing comic about the other two, which I thought were ace and better than much of their actual set.

But I've seen them live four times now, and it has been a 50/50 split between good and bad shows. They're a little unpredictable...

Electric Soft Parade: New Adventures

Morelikely they're playing small venues because they don't want to risk not selling out larger ones that they won't fill until the new single and album have had a chance to be digested.
