Belfast 4-piece, The Betes Noires, play an English tour next week taking in London, Manchester and Birmingham. This follows on from the bands regular visits to England in 2005, a show-stopping performance at the In the City Festival in Manchester last October and recent support slot with million selling US band the All-American Rejects

Thur 27 April Dry Bar, Manchester [on stage at 10pm]
Fri 28 April Scruffy Murphys, Birmingham [on stage at 8.30pm]
Sat 29 April Brixton Windmill, London [on stage at 11pm]
Sun 30 April Rock Garden, London [ on stage at 5.15pm]

Over the course of 2005 The Betes Noires clocked up over 15 gigs in London, including a riotous New Years Eve bash at The Windmill, Brixton, and support to Tim Wheeler (Ash) earlier in the year, at the same venue. Other 2005 highlights included appearances at TMF Rock Festival, Essex, the Artful extravaganza in New Cross and BelFEST. At home, the band has supported, among others, The Wonder Stuff, Art Brut, Kerbdog, The Frank and Walters and Editors.

The Betes Noires have also received significant radio airplay from the likes of indie maestro Steve Lamacq, Clare Sturgess on XFM and Across the Line on BBC Radio Ulster, and have just been hand picked by The Wedding Present to support them on their upcoming Irish dates.

Enthusiastic, dedicated and constantly gigging, they are the all-in-one package of high-spirited power grunge pop rock. With a knack for a tune while keeping it heavy with big riffs, gritty guitars and impressive bass lines, this three-piece has figured out the recipe that Ash, The Pixies and QOTSA cooked up. THE FLY

Pop rock brilliance! GIGWISE
