I'd never bothered to listen to the Kooks, because they'd been advertised to me like crazy and I couldn't be bothered, but last.fm has just played me "A turbulence beat" and it sounds like a lost Kula Shaker song (no indian influence) also a bit like Suede in the guitars.

...is that on their single, 'Naive', which has driven me to stop listening to 6music, the singer vomits quite a few times during the track.
I've checked the lyrics and it goes:
