What's the opinion of this band? I went to the gig last night on the strength of their debut single and the growing buzz in mags, messageboards etc.
The gig itself was alright - no complaints at all. I'm just a bit confused as to the level of hype as I didn't hear anything last night that was particularly special.
Is it a case of `another band from Sheffield so they must be good`?
It's all hype.
They are being pushed very hard by some media savvy fans, who never fail to big them up on sites such as this. And the 'next Arctic Monkey's tag' doesn't hurt at all.
But you are right, they are not particularly better or worse than anything else.

they've been around for ages, under a different name. Trap2 or something. saw them supportin arctic monkeys about a year and a half ago. both absolute shit.

i saw the end
of their set on friday night in stockton. i too thought it was nothing special but my opinion seemed to be in the minority as during the last song the crowd rushed the stage and lifted the guy onto their shoulders. they were literally worshipping this man and it worried me greatly. i also saw cult of luna on friday though and they were ace.
