If I dont do my coursework by tomorrow then I'll die!!!

or just not get entered for my exam!

arrrrrgh. Why am I so lazy. I'm doing it now. I should probably stop posting...

I posted this on a couple of myspace animal rights groups hoping theyd help me, and they wouldnt, I should have come to DiS, lovely DiS, lovely clever DiS:

am writing a piece on the place of animal rights within Christianity and the opinions of ethical philosophers.

Due to the humancentric quality of christianity, animals have been marginalised and exploited. Do you agree?

Is there a difference between the representation and treatment of animals in the new and old testament?

The issue of and conflict between stewardship and dominion dominate the issue of animals with reference to the bible. Which theme do you think is most prevalent today in christianity?

Any general thoughts on Christianity and animals would be welcomed.

I was also after some thoughts on the opinions of ethical philosophers with regards to animal rights. some dismiss them as automata, and others go as far to say that we should protect the interests of animals before our own.

Its very rambled and whatever I actualyl think Ive lost it. :)))))))

That's just from googling 'animal rights christianity'. Now highlight sections of text and press ctrl + c.

Or read them and do some actual work. Either is good

off the top of my head

All that stuff about certain animals being clean and unclean... kosher and all that Old Testament stuff. I suppose the difference between Old and New is the difference between Christianity and Judaism, to a large extent.

Eden - man names all the animals. That's some precedent. The Ark - God saves two of each animal but more than two humans.

Not coveting thy neighbour's ass. That golden calf false idol thing. Sacrificial lambs and that.

The Lamb of God.

I don't really know, sorry. Women in the Bible I can do, but not animals.

you

made a mistake asking on animal rights groups.

animals rights activists are, by and large, nutters.

very true

they just told me jesus was a vegetarian, end of.

When

Jesus did that loaves and fish thing, did he just have a bit of bread then?

And yet he expects people to eat his body and drink his blood on a weekly basis...?

duh

obviously liek constantine added that bit in uno, he poured moltn lead down the throats of anyone who didnt eat meat. apparently.

thanks everyone

I'm reading through the links - I'm going to be here all night. But i suppose I brought this on myself.
