I just listened to

Digital Ash In a Digital Urn for the first time.

Damn good album. So much more depth then Im Wide Awake......

Having said that, it's only the first listen

  • Thats interesting!

It took me along time to get into I'm wide awake, but it is alot better than digital. I overplayed tracks like Gold mine gutted.

  • It took me a couple of listens

to get into 'digital ash' and i think i said exactly the same thing as Panic to some of my friends but now it's the one i listen to most. 'Down in a Rabbit Hole' and 'I believe in Symmetry' are my favourites. I think the record is ace, stick with it, but I was kinda disappointed by the DAIADU live show at Somerset House...great to hear 'Neely O'Hara' but the new stuff didn't work so great.

    • same here,

I immediately loved 'I'm Wide Awake..' 'cause it's just gorgeous, and took me a fair few listens for Digital Ash... But given time now I probably love the latter a bit more and definitely play it more - love the dual drumming, the arrangements, the production, concept...

Kinda agree with you about the Somerset House gig, playing I'm Wide Awake... would've suited the setting better but still a good show.

      • digital ash

reminds me a lot of a more expansive (less bitter) version of black out by the good life
