Thank God for that, they had become embarrassingly shit. Just the other day I was comparing TV performances from now and then, and it is just shocking how bad they have become.

About time too, unfortunately. First album - classic singles, average otherwise. Second album - classic. Third album - great pop record, some ropey lyrics. Fourth album - great tunes, embarrassing lyrics. Fifth album... should never have been made.

I'll miss them for what they were.

The Strokes should thank them I remember the hype of Suede years back .... Either way I think both Suede and the Strokes SUCK. Thing is Suede used to be good their first album is glam perfection. The Strokes are just big in the UK god knows why!? Please I would take a Menswear solo project compared to the American crap the UK is making popular ...

Dashboard Confessional are already huge in the UK basically. I remember when Emo used to be Emo - and stuff like The Get Up Kids was considered to be it. Now Emo is shouty 'post hardcore' ATDI rip off bands like FFAF and Finch.... man emo and punk suck

The last few things from suede have been week. I used to always look forward to their b-sides(besides teh album) but I think brett just sort of lost it lyrically. That 2nd album is a corker(also consider the circumstances it was made unde with bernard leaving before completion). Please spare me the shit that is popular today. the strokes suck(lame songs, melodies and lyrics), white stripes(fuckin fad band)and anymore nyc/detroit shit. The libertines are okay(I think pete is the one to watch)while the future of music lies with bands like keane, amtyville(ex geneva), amplifier and brett solo

Pity they split. They made some great songs, and its
just a shame that they couldn't go out on a high note.

On the plus side, maybe there'll be a Anderson/Butler reformation ala Page and Plant in a few years.

and hopefulyl Bernard will leave his guitars at home and we'll be treated to a stylophone version of The Wild Ones, Brett's ash'tinted vocal chords straining and failing to reach those high notes. Two and a half great albums, one album that sucked the very depths of the gutter and one that left you indifferent. Sci-Fi Lullabies will be the album to remember them by and I'm happy to bet that, like my copy, the second CD has barely been played due to its uncomprising awfulness.

I like the songs i've heard by Suede but don't no their stuff in great detail... but they kind of remind me of my childhood... Despite the fact of me being around 9 when Brit Pop was at it's height, i feel a surge of respect when it comes to Blur/Elastica/Supergrass/Suede etc... Good old days when it was Oasis vs Blur for the number one - now it's Blazin Squad vs Kylie (Kylie obviously). Ahh and now it's all shitty Libertines and The Strokes... i can't wait for it to die like Nu Metal did.. and Britpop.. it'll be 10 years later when people start to look back and think 'Boy i remember that craze of The White Stripes!' and possibly find some kind of goodness in it (if that's possible). I feel i can go back and actually appreciate it now, no matter how crap it apparently was... The whole fun is remembering songs you used to love (Mansun's Wide Open Space being one).
