SPAN: Do DiS 'Mass Distraction' Tour in '04 + Digital Single
Finally, news of a Span album is on the way... DiS supports tour... plus digital single...
After over a year of buzzing on about struttin' Norweigan rockers Span, they've finally gone and set a release date for their debut album as February 16th 2004. Reason for delay? Well, we hear they've reworked some tracks having signed to Interscope (QOTSA, Trail of Dead, Eminem) in America, plus they've been busy having hit singles in Scandinavia, between various support slots with everyone from Jetplane Landing and Biffy Clyro through to Evanescence.
Better news still is that to support the highly-anticipated 'Mass Distraction' album, Drowned in Sound will be proudly promoting their tour, with support from some of the finest new bands in the world (details about these to be announced shortly - if you fancy putting your name on the list of bands to consider email us). You may also be interested to know: 'Don't Think The Way They Do' will be out as a single 2nd February '04. And the album "Mass Distraction", produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Distillers, Foo Fighters) & Mixed by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden) is released 16th Feb '04.

Span rock!!!! Saw em support evanescence at the astoria and they were the best band on the night!!! Amazing band, not long before they are rocking out stadiums i think!!
Their EP was called mass distraction though :S:S:S:S-

ahhh it may be that then. it has the the tracks found and papa on there as well as three others and is in like a grey slipcase type thing. i just assumed it was an ep.

People just have to get out and see SPAN on this headlining tour. We've waited an eternity for the album, but it's certainly the best debut I've heard for decades. With the right record company and marketing support, SPAN should be huge. They're undoubtedly the best new rock band around at the moment, bar none.-

and cus tis very easy to get to london gigs from... i remember span did the biffy tour down there, so it aint like they're totally ignoring the place.
most of the time it's scheduling and what local venues can offer, etc... if you keep supporting the local promoters they can afford to put on shows...

I saw span at the cardiff barfly, its a teeny club and was totally packed i spent the whole gig stunned by the amazing performance they gave. They are the best band i have ever seen perform live in all my years of gigging and i can't believe they don't have more recognition.-

hey! i'm one of the span forum moderators and believe me....we ask this question all the time....don't get me wrong...management do a good job! it's stations like Radio 1 who won't play their released tracks etc.
They are a band who could make it not only big but HUGE!!!! Frustrating that they're not though.....-

hey hey its just good to see that others appreciate their stuff. I'm sure that if enough people spread the word span will definately cause a mass distraction! It has to be me bloody hell i can't go a day without listening to them! I've managed to spread the word to all my friends that span rule and hopefully they have some other friends they could tell but as much as i think it will make their more recognised i doubt it will because i am powerless lol! And a student...so! :)-

It doesn’t matter if you are just a student….whatever you can do, do it…spread the word…..tell people about gigs….sign up to do traffic streetteam work…..it all counts! I’m just a student too! I just happened to use the forums a lot and I am dedicated to Span and their music…..i’ll shut up now before I sound completely weird ;)-

haha nah u don't sound weird. Just dedicated span fan! Which is groovy and everyone should be a spanfan don't u agree? Anyhoo i've babbled my fair share of crap as it goes so don't worry. Keep up the good word and i will continue spreading the word. Ooh okay this may sound weird...but i have a span shrine! hoorah ;) hehe shel :)-

:D it ain't too weird....i don't have a shrine but i have autographs and posters and photos of the dudes all round my room.....all the other bands i like have been somewhat neglected recently....heehee
try and come to some of the gigs that may happen around april....and register on the forums if you haven't already....we're a cool bunch if i may say so meself!-

nope...not a freak...just stressed....i know so much what you're going through....i'm about to jump off of a bridge i'm so bad...but span are keeping me going....I don't think they know how much they music is actually helping me.....god....i'm soooo weird I know....*blushed*-
