The Vessels Split

Surrey popsters The Vessels have sadly called it a day. They played their last gigs in December, including a support slot with The Bluetones at Shepherd's Bush Empire, and only recently released a 5-track EP on Superior Quality.
A band spokesman said they "might return with a new line up or new name."

The Vessels Split
They played a joint headline at The Borderline last year with my lovely MOSES.
MOSES much better.
& Their manager was captain America off of Virgin. He is the most English Gent-ish man I have ever met, which made me smile.-
Re: The Vessels Split
Their manager was actually Mike from Malpractice but
Captain America was their label boss for awhile.

The Vessels Split
who were they?-
Re: The Vessels Split
there's a link to the album review and a previous news story to the top right of your screen....-
Re: The Vessels Split
haha you know i was being pompous :P
iknow them by name, but by music i havent a clue.We have too many 'the' bands ,and to mnay who cant back it up.
Thats the reason 'Distophia' are 'THE' knackers ;)-
Re: The Vessels Split
Too many THE bands? What a crap argument, look back in the 60s and see how many THE bands there were. Just as many, if not more. -
Re: The Vessels Split
oh, i see. :-P
they were a harmonic jingly jangly beat combo with hints of alt.country, with some great songs and an especially talented guitarist. they were more rough about the edges live than their album suggests.
i don't expect they'll all take much of a break.

The Vessels Split
Nooo! How could they. They are a huge talent which will be lost forever. They have left the music world in such turmoil now. Paul you have to keep writing such beautiful tunes, Neil keep your drums and drumming, Steve be your usual chirpy self and Gerard...well definitely miss you the most in my live photos - no tasmanian devil look anymore: (
Please reunite if only for one last tour maybe?? -
The Vessels Split
Nobody this good will be lost for ever hopefully.
Their first album is a classic which puts both the Coral and The Thrills in the shade in my opinion.
I believe that if they had made the Glastonbury gig
last Summer things would have been very different.
Hope to see them back in some way before too long!!

oh man
The Vessels made the jangliest, coolest album of 2003.....they were great! -
The Vessels Split
oi, you bastards
going and splitting
you'd better make sure i dont catch any of you.... -
The Vessels Split
agh no.. and look for me first was so marvellous! curses :( -
The Vessels Split
Great band, but scary obsessive girl fans. Eurrgh... -
The Vessels Split
I was incredibly upset when I heard this news and even more upset with the fact that the band didnt care to inform their fans of their split. Considering I never really visited sites like this until now, I thought it was unbelievable how they just took down the site and messageboard with no word or anything.
I mean a 'thank you for all your support over the past years' wouldve been nice...
Anyway, I hope they do return, and I hope I get to know about it if they do. -
Why???
Any idea why!!
When they improving all the time and did well with their own self-release - I know my mate bought a copy so that's one sale, obviously not enough to keep them in the rock 'n' roll trappings they deserve, but at least enough for each of them to make an emergency phone call, £1 split 5 ways including their manager.
Or was it all crumbling away behind the scenes.
I agree that just deleting the website without a word is a tad thoughtless - will we ever know the real truth.

what are we gonna do now Tori? -
The Vessels Split
Chris! Hi! Never guess who I ran into last night, in Manchester of all places? Neil Vessel! And basically it looks that its NOT over for good...-
Re: The Vessels Split
Hello Tori.
I remember you from the message board. If you find out anything else please would you keep in touch somehow? I've read a few things on the Bluetones site but it all seems pretty cryptic. I really miss the Vessels...

The Vessels Split
Im am absolutely gutted! I told everyone that The Vessels were the dogs danglies and saw them play with the bluetones in sheffield. I can't stop crying! Help... We must hunt them all down and force them to get back together! -
The Vessels Split
Bollocks - there back in the studio recording for sony. Yes the guitarist has sadly been replaced. -
The Vessels Split
Could this be the vessels latest incarnation? Correct me if i'm wrong!
RACESCENE are a trio from Kingston-Upon-Thames specialising in lovely lilting lo-fi Americana alt-pop which dons its cap to the likes of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. The aural equivalent of warming your toes by a log fire.
ONSTAGE AT 10.45 @ The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town, thursday 11th March -
The Vessels Split
Hey, this is sad. Our band, Makar, actually played a gig with them in the U.S. They were a good little band, I expected big things from them. They had their stuff together. They probably didn't own the website and that's why it was just taken down and no one was told. The labels probably did the whole site. That is why labels are crap among other reasons. Hopefully, they'll come along in another incarnation.
They seemed like a nice bunch of guys, wish them the best, and let me know if there's more news.
