Texan three piece head to the UK for dates.
Charalambides make beautiful, spacious psychedelic folk music in the vein of Espers and influential 70s group, Fuschia.
They bring the new album A Vintage Burden (Kranky) to our shores this July, with these live dates. DiS recommends you make the effort for this unique and incredible band.
As well as these shows, the band will also shoot to Minehead for this year's All Tomorrow's Parties: Nightmare Before Christmas festival, curated by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore.

Yet another band
NOT playing in the second largest city in the UK: Birmingham
umm...
"Charalambides make beautiful, spacious psychedelic folk music in the vein of Espers and influential 70s group, Fuschia."
Does that mean they won't be playing any of the old stuff? I'm there anyway.
Was going to say like
the one i've heard 'Joy Shapes' wasn't really like that.
Perhaps they've
decided that they've given enough people nightmares and will do nice stuff from now on, or Colin's only heard the new album.
have you heard Fuschia!?!?
no I haven't, sorry
I can't find them on Allmusic or Wikipedia. Any records or samples I should check out? I didn't mean to be all "you don't know the old stuff, I'm superior to you" I just don't really find Unknown Spin or Joy Shapes to be "beautiful" in the conventional sense of the word, or to sound much like Espers.
The songs I've heard from the new one sound ace though, I haven't bought it yet but will do very soon.
Joy Shapes is beautiful to me.
it's also psychedelic and folky.
Nottingham
Its 30 miles away - pull your finger out!
