i wish i lived in England so i could go to all of your festivals, in Atlanta we just had Music Midtown and that was grand, Soon Lolapaloza will be coming tho, i cant wait to see the Flaming Lips there
And before all that kicks off, theres the small matter of the NWOAHM tour - Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Shadows Fall and God Forbid - can't fucking wait!!!!
Stuff the British festivals! I'm off to Pukkelpop - always better for the simple reason that it's the weekend before Reading and thus able to combine acts from both Reading and Creamfields, and being in Belgium it's also able to cherry pick Glastonbury acts as well! Nice one.
And rather than lugging what pitiful amount of beer you can fit in your backpack for 3 miles before you reach the campsite (Glastonbury, Reading) you can stock up on cheap alcohol at Calais, drive staight up to Amsterdam for the hashish, if that's your thing, then smoke perfectly legally in Belgium (you just can't buy it there, apparently).
Oh, and how about Furyfest, in France, for the PERFECT metal-core festival.
festivals in belgium are fantastic, proper road trip fun. and the stellas real as well, gotta be extra careful with that though...
englands never really caught up with europe line up wise, we rarely get extremely diverse line ups, but over there you can get sheryl crow on after satyricon. thats what festivals are all about, not safe line ups. reading hasnt taken any major risks for their headliners for years.. they havnt surprised either.
