World's worst band slag off DiS. Bring it on
I know quite a few people, not thousands, but a good few hundred. Out of those people, I don't know one who thinks anything positive about the degenerate buffoons who call themselves Towers of London.
Today, we were forwarded a video of the band from a friend in which they claim they are to send us a turd in a takeaway box after slagging the band off earlier in their "career", taken from their current TV series airing on BBC1. Oh no, sorry, I meant the late-night tits, ass and car crash channel, Bravo.

So, Towers, how about you send us that turd then? I had a quick flick through the postbag and thought I'd found it, but realised it was just your album. This is of course if you can crawl from your troglodytic cess pit long enough to make it to a post office. Maybe you'll do something really edgy and steal a stamp or something... 2) Attacking a magazine or website for giving you a bad review is gay.
3) Everyone I've ever met who likes this band is as thick as freshly laid pigshit. Worse, they tend to also like groups like Warrant, Ratt, Mansun and Kula Shaker.

SO, I've never heard anything the Towers of London have done, and i'm ecstatic about that fact, as from reading DiS it appears they may make my ears bleed. But i wanna figure something out. Was that clip shown on TV? The second one, where they beat up the admittedly-quite-annoying-but-none-the-less-undeserving random? Because if it was, that would be some good evidence to press charges on. In which case, these guys appear to want to be Pete Docherty-esque badboys who want to get press coverage for being tits rather than their shite music. Which means they're either intensely stupid or are following a business plan which appears to be working given the apparently undeserved publicity this band are getting. They have a TV show? Fuck me. Odd. Anyway, just putting that out there. x

1) Methinks, publicity stunt. Especially the fact that the guy ran away, thus proving how 'hard' they are. That combined with the rather slick presentation of it all...
2) As much of an idiot as he was, he never actually threw a punch or assaulted them in any way, so it wasn't exactly retaliation.Anyhow, I like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, so I watched them at Reading last year. Apart from "Fuck It Up", they were rubbish.

this could soon turn out to be an media-artschool project about how far can you go and how many people will swallow it as whole. seems like fairly good acting to me. In Finland, we once had this theatre-group that kind of did this already, they threw shit in the audience and got huge publicity.
Funny story though, a friend of mine went to see them in Berlin and they played for 20min without the singer cause he had disappeared before the show, the guitarist singing. Then eventually this Tourette-character appeared on stage and had pissed his pants totally! Picture to prove and all. Thought it was quite funny and well, they were quite entertaining at sxsw as well beating one guy up and destroying the gear. Funny 30mins but did it make any difference to anything? no. Will I go see it again? could. -

...they're loving all this free press and discussion about them! They thrive on it, good or bad. The easiest way to hurt them and disappear from the scene is not to mention them at all.
They were utter dicks to me when I interviewed them, so rather than write a feature slagging them off (which they'd have liked more than a positive article), we just pulled it totally and didn't run one at all. Cue a PR pleading for weeks to rearrange it, saying they'd be told to behave, and that they were only rude to me as they didn't realise I "was a proper journalist instead of a fanzine writer", as if that makes it OK to be rude to someone.....muppets.

How can you say what they do has "all been done before"? Fucking everything's been done before!! It's impossible to be original nowadays. Least they're different from all the fucking indie shit who all sound the same all dress like pretty boys and pretend to be rock.
The reason their album hasn't "set the charts on fire" is because not everyone has heard of them. They're not advertised on every fucking channel because they're not commercial shit. Real bands work hard to where they get to, they don't just shoot to fame with their first album because of TV, they work their way up.
They're just causing a stir because they do what they want, they like to have fun. Can't you just fucking accept the way they behave, it's up to them, it's their life not yours.
And how can 99.9% of people be bored with them when not everyone's heard of them?? Anyone with half a fucking brain cell will be able to realise that towers of london are the best band on the music scene. They have awesome riffs, amazing guitar solos, drum beats that make your neck prickle, and donny's voice is just fantastic. And not to mention their stage presence which is UNBELIEVABLY good.
And actually, they are really nice people. Unless you're stupid enough get on the wrong side of them. Like that fucking chav cunt. He deserved what he got.

you don't have to invent a new instrument to be original, you just have to create something distinctive, emotionally. a reason why i would listen to you as opposed to what had gone before. something that deserves to exist in its own right. Towers Of London don't do this... you may as well just listen to the many hair metal and punk bands who did the same thing, just better.

I am a fan of TOL based largly on their live shows which after a couple of beers can be pretty special, there isnt many people who i have spoken to at TOL gigs who dont agree that the gigs are very entertaining and fair enough it is hard to put this over in a record but the album isnt too bad at all.-

DiS vs. Towers of London - bring it on
World's worst band slag off DiS. Bring it onI know quite a few people, not thousands, but a good few hundred. Out of those people, I don't know one who thinks anything positive about the degenerate buffoons who call themselves Towers of London.
Today, we were forwarded a video of the band from a friend in which they claim they are to send us a turd in a takeaway box after slagging the band off earlier in their "career", taken from their current TV series airing on BBC1. Oh no, sorry, I meant the late-night tits, ass and car crash channel, Bravo.

So, Towers, how about you send us that turd then? I had a quick flick through the postbag and thought I'd found it, but realised it was just your album. This is of course if you can crawl from your troglodytic cess pit long enough to make it to a post office. Maybe you'll do something really edgy and steal a stamp or something...
