This Sunday Fat Wreck punksters Good Riddance will be playing at Manchester University but before they take to the stage the band will be leading a PETA protest against KFC at 12.45 p.m. outside KFC, 131-133 Portland Street, Manchester.

Fat Wreck Chords and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) joined forces for a benefit compilation last year and have decided to take things one step further by inviting PETA go on the road with Good Riddance giving out all sorts of information about Animal Rights and the organisation itself. On Sunday not only will you get the chance to meet the heavily-tattooed Russ Rankin of Good Riddance but you'll also get to have a chat about Animal Rights and his strict Vegan stance.

If you wanna take part just turn up on the day and PETA will supply all the materials necessary for the demonstration. For more information on KFC's questionable chicken-breeding tactics and other abuses go here.

Vegans are wasting their lives not eatting meat. With their big moral stances, Oxfam clothes and faint whiff of cabage, they should be banished to hell along with non-McKinneylings and disabled people.

Now i though that was an eye catching flyer when i was handed it outside of the above mentioned KFC. and everyone knows if you want a real KFC you should Krunchy Fried Chicken!!

Sajaan's chicken pakora's are pretty special too - cheaper than crispy strips.
Veganisnm is a bit extreme though, it is not at all healthy, and as leather tends to be a byproduct of food consumption, i don't feel too guilty

However, you're to be applauded for your anti-fast food stance, I can't stand the stuff myself but it's not going to go away. It's crap and we know it but if people want to eat it, let them, as long as we don't have the situation there is in America whereby fat people sue McDonalds for selling them fatty food. But anyway, I digress. The point is, fuck it, who cares? There's more important things in the world to worry about.

Hello hello,

I think its fantastic that PETA are getting involved in this...sure you might not agree with the whole PETA thing, but at least people might learn something from attending the show...and people who do feel strongly about it can show this through the demonstration.

Afterall, shouldn't people have the right to be given an informed choice as to whether they eat KFC/all meat, rather than make an ignorant decision?

Knowledge is power and all that...

PS in response to martbean... you might think there's more important things to worry about, but for some people this issue means a lot and that means doing something about it rather than sit around complaining all day...

I concur... PETA have a point which is taken to extremes so they're regarded as a fringe element.

If they just accepted some form of compromise, they'd be onto a winner.

Don't even get me started on the fuckers who protest against medical testing on animals.

oh but is.. its so nice and good for you. when i used to go to the hospital, i used to get a 'twister' afterwards for being brave. it soothed my pain. i don't like macadees even though i have cap that says "i'm love'in it" on it, because i'm ironic.
