Weekend tickets for the Carling Weekend Reading Festival have sold out. This follows V Festival Chelmsford’s sell out last week and the remaining Glastonbury tickets disappearing yesterday afternoon.

Download (featuring Metallica, Linkin Park, HIM) still has some tickets remaining however, and Move (Morrissey, Pixies, The Cure, Stereophonics) also goes on sale today.

Day tickets for Reading are still available at £45 a throw, though even if you buy three you will not be able to camp. Weekend tickets for Leeds are still available for £105. The event takes place across Bank Holiday weekend 27-29th August and will feature The Darkness, White Stripes, Morrissey, Supergrass, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand and many more.

Try your luck with tickets here.

sigh,
eBay here I come

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

in all seriousness, are they introduceing measures to stop non ticket holders getting onto the camp site?
for years ive been speculating that id have as much fun without a ticket, just turning up and fucking around on the campsite for three days.

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

it's more fun when you HAVE a ticket and just turn up and fuck around on the campsite for 3 days

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

they seem to check people for tickets entirely randomly as you enter the campsite on the first day, so if you made sure you stayed in the middle of the crowd away from any stewards as you go through the gates then i think you're pretty much guaranteed to get in. if they ask to see your ticket just sigh loudly and complain about having your hands full or something (not that they seemed to care when they asked to see mine, bastards....)

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

I don't know, that was my plan for this year. I'm gonna buy a day ticket for whichever day seems best and then go and stay for the whole weekend on the campsite. Hopefully I can get away with it, a few mates of mine did it last year and the year before.

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

I had three day tickets last year because the tickets sold out too quickly. I just got a mate to meet me outside the campsite with two weekend tickets and then we both walked back in. You only need to do this if you're going in on the thursday. The rest of the weekend we just got our wristbands first thing and then you can go in and out all day. It depends how ofen you leave the site. You can change the wristbands over too!
It's not too much hassle, it's just annoying having to pay about £160-170 instead of whatever it cost this year.
A friend of mine now has a house in reading anyway, mmm, showers

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

crap, i was getting mine this weekend...goddammit. better get leeds ones then. maybe.

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

I'm just buying three day tickets along with my friend- as long as I turn up on Friday morning, with my Friday day ticket I can just stay at the camp site all weekend- and exchange my day ticket every day. At £45 a day ticket, plus about £10/£15 collective postage and booking fee it should work out cheaper than an Ebay ticket.

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

u cant do that thats the point of having a weekend ticket ur not allowed to camp even when u have 3 day tickets, altho the stewards never seem to check anyway u just have to make sure u dont go for random walks around the site at night time cuz stewards appear in random places and tell u u shouldnt b there and ask to c ur wristband

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

festivals are the ultimate area to show off an nu-haircut.

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

What? You mean a haircut with a rap section jammed in the middle?

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

You should copyright that mate.

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

Is everybody dumb? Who wants to see Green Day when you can see David Bowie

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

I'm just gona get 1 off a tout, ritefully it's my ticket neway. last year a couple of my mates got 1 for about 150 quid, cheaper than ebay. They should av thought of a way to get rid of touts by now neway!!

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

I heard that you can turn up + get them on the door if ur early on Thursday anyways ill probably go 2 leeds its just as fun just smaller.....

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

if they r sold out on the festival website u wont b able to get them on the door unless u get them from touts and then u pay an absolute fortune for them

Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

i'd just like to say to everyone reading this thread: NEVER use www.getmetickets.com- they RIP YOU OFF. I bought a weekend reading ticket for £200 and an extra £7 postage fee in march and they chose TODAY (wed) to tell me that i need to pick them up at noon on the friday. I read around and apparently they've been on watchdog for not even turning up and the net is full of stories of people who waited around for hours only to have someone turn up and say there were no tickets. Now I have to go and get one from a tout and although I know what a genuine ticket looks like, I'm terrified of buying a dud. Does anyone have any hints on buying off touts? Cheers. x

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

there will be tickets on the box office, no? they usually hold a small batch back for people to come down and buy if they get there early.

Re: Reading Weekend Tickets All Gone

get there friday midday and get one off a tour for under £50
not really that much to lose
you are clearly willing to pay for 4 of them
chances are they'll all be real
innit
