Isis: European tour dates in full

by Mike Diver
Artists: Isis

Now, regular readers will remember a certain writer (hi) getting ridiculously excited about the fact that Isis, probably the world's greatest purveyors of slow-core rock dramatics, were chosen to appear as part of ATP's Don't Look Back series of gigs, performing their Oceanic long-player (clicky). What you might have missed, though (as I did until yesterday), is that the quintet are playing a few other European shows before their Koko date. And these are 'proper' shows - go twice!

The band - now calling the sunshine of California home after tearing up their Boston roots - perform Oceanic from start to blinding finish on July 23, but play no fewer than half-a-dozen European shows before it. Check these and good gosh get a ticket if they're available...

July
17 Amsterdam Melkweg
18 Paris La Maroquinerie
19 Cardiff Point
20 Bournemouth Opera House
21 Sheffield Corporation
22 Birmingham SuperSonic Festival @ Custard Factory
23 London Koko (performing Oceanic)

Support - for the Bournemouth show at least - comes from Zombi and Thrones. Ticket prices vary from about £14 plus booking in Bournemouth to over £21 all in for the Koko show (based on Seetickets.com prices).

DiScuss: Can some kind Londoner please drive me to Bournemouth? I'll buy you a sandwich from the 24-hour Asda for your troubles...

got tickets

for Brummy and Koko! Gonna be an amazing weekend!!!!!!!

Got tickets for

Bournemouth cannot wait.

Seetickets are cunts.

Ticketweb has Koko tickets for £18.45...

better...

...I need to buy one on Friday.
Hopefully there'll still be some by then.

I've...

Heard great things about Isis. I also have a few songs. Tell me now...Is this going to be the gig of 2006 and is it going to be worth me spending £20 to see them?

Isis performing Oceanic

will be MY gig of the year.

If you're a newcomer, go to another show... one where they'll play a mixture.

mike

come to bournemouth with me and beastman, we'll make a weekend of it. x

yar maybe...

...simon driving?

Make me...

...a fake ID for Koko, please Mike?

ATP are a wack attack for putting all their good shows on at Koko.

the point

is the place for me. can't wait.

I like other

...slow burney rock type bands (like Mono and schtuff), but what I've heard of Isis has never thrilled me.

YOU OBVIOUSLY AREN'T GETTING IT DANGER, YOU PROBABLY LIKE KAISER CHIEFS AND HAVE NO TASTE.

I still can't believe that

the Koko gig conincides with Truck.

No way I can drive back on Sunday night to catch it.

*ABSOLUTELY FUCKING GUTTED*

...

gotta say, isis are starting to bore me a little. They seem a little lacking in depoth sometimes. Oceanic was ace as were the albums before it but the last one never grabbed me. Still, theyre always pretty good live, as long as its loud enough.

just listened to Oceanic

to remind myself how amazing it is.

Anyone going to Koko, I hate you.

Ticket for Isis / Cardiff

I have a spare ticket for the Cardiff gig on the 19th...£12.50, with Thrones and Zombi...A right old post-metal knees-up :) Anyone who's interested, let me know..
