I wish people would listen to this

it gets my seal of approval.

.

this is fanfuckingtastic.

blog post coming up

Indie Power Rangers

I've done a blog post about Los. Campesionos over @ "Nothing But Green Lights" my mp3 blog.

Download "You, Me, Dancing"

http://nothingbutgreenlights.net/2006/06/30/los-campesinos/

People like this a lot.

+300 Downloads from my site alone in 4 days. Exceptional!

Jag.

But a lovely Jag of that!

This

is actually proper good.

See!

I know these things!

In future

all JAGs should be filtered through monpot before they reach the boards :D

Fucking Hell!

"You Me Dancing" is ridiculously good. I usually ignore jags but listened for some reason and this is exceptional (in a one of the best things I've heard this year sense of the word).

Best of luck with the music 'cos you really deserve some success!

Thing is

us kids don't even know the name of your band.

Well, can't pronounce it anyway.

Los Campesinos!

Keep up now Thommo, keep up.

I'd hazard a guess at...

(phonetically)
Los Camp-ess-ee-nos

Monpot was singing the praises of this a couple of weeks ago

damn him for being one step ahead.

They do sound ace, though. My friend in Americaland has just added them, too

This is

REALLY good.

A bit like a Architecture in Helsinki crossed with Life Without Buildings.

ha!

and they list both bands in their influences. Didn't read that till now.

Tis good

but no upcoming gigs?

I know :-(

and I STILL havn't seen them live. Ex-Housemate Dave and Silent Hayley say they're ace live. I tried to blag my way in to their last gig, but had no joy, and I ended up going to see Spencer McGarry Season instead.

is there a proper website

or are they confined to myspace? I want downloads damnit.

No downloads of the songs

BUT they bulletined saying that they're in the process of making CDs (with artwork and everything!) which they'll give out for free because it's nicer to have something you can hold than just files on a computer.

excellent!

they are my friends now.

haha

Silent Hayley always makes me smile

She's coming to Truck

It'll be her birthday. We're making her a cake.

this is aceness

yay for twee.

its all about

Gindrinker- in their top 8

Blimey...

Thanks for all the nice words. Really, it genuinely means a lot. We're on a small summer hiatus at the minute, as some of the band are going home for summer (i know, lazy students etc)...so gigs won't happen for a while, unfortunately

We'll probably make the songs available to download at some point, but if you want a cd just send us a message and we'd obviously be happy (and slightly bewildered) to send you the songs...

Thanks for bigging us up monpot...hopefully see you at a gig in september or something...i take it you're a cardiff local?

x

I think I may just like this band, look at their influences. FANFUCKINGTASTIC!

Pavement, Mogwai, Life Without Buildings, Sonic Youth, Broken Social Scene, The Shins, Architecture In Helsinki, Beulah, ballboy, The Decemberists, Grandaddy, Built To Spill, Explosions In The Sky, Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown, The Unicorns...

wow.

And I don't use that word lightly.

it's you

it's me
and there's dancing

Any updates on Cardiff gigs would be ace please!

Not likely to be before the start of the Uni season though? Erk.

Er...

Due to unforeseen niceness from people, we've made the songs downloadable now...

Just promise to send us your address at some point so we can send you real songs... Thanks x

Great!

That's really good stuff. I've passed on your link to a few people who I'm sure will enjoy it too! :)

Oh, and you remind me of.....

.......Bearsuit.

wow !

For once a JAG! that's actually good.
*clicks download*

oh

you me dancing wont download :(
Pretty please fix it ?

There is something

REALLY suspect about this thread...

You mean 'cos everyone's saying how great it is?

It really is though, honest.

I live in London, have no connection whatsoever with this band and - bar surprising conincidence - have never met them.

But this is staggeringly good stuff!

bump

<3

I meant to say

yes I like this much.

listen to it at work

and liked it.

Am I the only one

who can't download the songs ?

Nope, file not found

And the player seems to be skipping alot, but I think that's due to me listening to it too much

Damn you myspace!

not just me being completely

incompetent then...

Does appear to be the same with all bands

Can't download any.

Boring

Jingly jangly radio friends indie wank!

Thanks...

for the nice responses, and the constructive criticism...

a couple of things:

-what's a jag? is it some moronic pleb that goes on message boards plugging their band in an embarrassing way? if so, totally justified, i apologise, but all this feedback is nice...

-what's suspect about the thread?

-we're just sorting out the downloads now, but it's been mega-busy today with house-movings...i'll post up a yousendit link in a little while

-thanks so much to the guy who put us on a blog- we blush!

x

I think they were saying the thread was suspect

because rarely does someone advertise thier own band on here that most people really enjoy.

radio friendly?

whats wrong with radio friendly?

this

is good

-1 for the JAG
+20 for being poptastic

advice:

less strumming more drumming. (RHYME)

Thanks...

...again for more nice comments and for allowing me an insight into the more esoteric side of this board...but yeah, jag-tastic...

Here's a .rar file of the songs if people wanna download:

Downloads

should now be working if people still want them...

Thanks

x

Downloaded all 4 songs

and had them on all morning.

Particularly enjoy the intro to the first tune.

But it's all ace.

the intro to you me dancing sounds

very like a mogwai song. VERY like it. Not saying its ripped off or anything. Rest of the song definitly is NOT mogwai, and its ROCK.
xylophones are the new guitars.
Or synths if you read the NME.

ha

thanks, the intro is just a big noise crescendo; you could say it was ripped off from a few places...but we much prefer the term 'influenced'...

we actually have a couple of post rock tunes that we haven't recorded yet, that work to break up the set, which is where the mogwai comes into the influences section...but it's like post-rock for the impatient. post-pop, or something

but glad you like the songs, thanks a lot

x

You Twisting tonight Bromley?

I'll be there unless the heat kills me. Say hello if you recognise me. I'll be the skinny one in a polo shirt. Ummmm....

ooh

i might be, everyone's gone home, so i could be flying solo. gary got a first class degree, so he'll be on a high...

but i'll need something to do after the game, so i'll almost definitely see you there...

Ace

Restlessboy who posts on these here forums will be in town from Manchester, so it should be a fun night!

I want

to Twist tonight...

after the defeat of France

i will want to listen to Twist tonight...

twist

...

haven't listen to Twist

since we won...

Last night I meet Bromley

he was nice. And we danced to You, Me, Dancing. It was fun.

You danced...

...I shuffled awkwardly. And boy, did you dance...it was truly glorious.

jealous.

I can't get that song out of my head.

I danced in my seat

Next time, the dancefloor.

The tune is awesome by the way, Bromley!

Thank you

for pleasing my ears!

I love

these songs, they're great! Can i still request a cd or am i too late?

Bless you guys...

...how lovely you all are. Seriously, it means so much.

The CDs are, ahem, underway at the minute, but it could be a while...we want there to be at least a decent bit of artwork so we're working on that as we speak...just drop us a mesage with your address though and we won't forget anyone...hopefully.

x

Wow

this is really good!

v good!

thanks monpot for your informing me of them.

ah

yes. i spot it now. am now 47% closer to loveliness! thanks (can i call you) john.

well

it's my name so why not? as long as i can call you tammy

fair enough

..john. and the extracting has been successful. You! Me! Dancing! = ACE.

You'll need WinRar or something

to open the files.

Where do I get WinRar from?

Hmmm

it's still not extracting the files for me. I bet it's MySpace's fault, bloody 'Tom'.

sadly enough

tom was on my friends list and was number 1 for about 2 weeks.

OMG

They have a DiS profile!

no

go for it

this is

fucking ace.

weird story:

so, i listened to this band i rather like them. what i do when i find stuff i like is to contact the bands to get a CD for a future Public Service Broadcast.

so, i msg this band and it turns out i met a bunch of them at ATP when i was locked out of my chalet during Sleater Kinney.

well, what do you know..

just listened..

...to you me dancing..
nice, happy, jingly JAnGly tunage.

Can imagine all their stuff has the similar style? Am i wrong? but yeah good luck with it les Cardiffians!

I'm reliably informed

that they're playing Green Man.

Or did I make that up?

Personally

I found it a poor man's Snowfight In The City Centre.

i saw them

and thought they were like keane without the charisma, instantly likeable pop songs, and sheer visceral thrill.

:|

Snowfight

are ace.
