Story Of The Year wear baggy pants, shout a bit and have some issues with girls. This formula has helped them flog many a tonne of records Stateside, but is, unfortunately, desperately dull. 'Until The Day I Die' smells like last weeks' Thursday/Finch cast-offs. Big chorus? Check. Some guff about killing one's self for some chick? Check. Pop-tastic hooks that wouldn't be out of place in a Bon Jovi song? Check already. B-side 'The Heart Of Polska Is Still Beating' is better - somewhere between the East Coast anger of Snapcase and poppy girl-friendly emo of Brand New et al - but hardly essential. In a word, poor.

Applause, applause. SOTY have some good songs in their repertoire, and I'm ever so grateful to them for having written those, but this isn't one of them.

I thought it sucked when I heard it, blinked when I found out it was SOTY, then continued thinking it sucked.

We really don't deserve that shit being piled on our music-store shelves.

I'm sorry to have to mention this, but Brand New aren't emo. Emo is a genre. It doesn't just mean anything that isn't skate punk. Sort it out.

in my opinion, SOTY is one of the best bands this year. yeah, so what if there is a lot of talk about death or stabbing. they are expressing how they feel. and if you have read an article in a magazine called Ap you will see that one of the group members wrote some of the songs during the time he got a divorce. if we were in that same postition wouldn't all of us feel just as pissed off?
plus,right now, there is always death or a story that someone was murdered. for all of you who think their music sucks, you're missing out. there shouldn't be music by wannabees like hilary duff. now that is shit being piled on our music store today.
