Yellowcard are yet another college-emo-rock that have drifted over the ocean after a few years of toiling a gruelling home circuit, and you can’t really find too much wrong with it. The older songs are gritty and vital, exuding the fresh air of troubled teens while the more recent material brings a fine melody, and some finer tunes, to the blend and is generally less cross. There is also the appearance of a comedy hXc violinist who, in-between the poorly mimed strokes of his box and faux-vibrato, proudly pumps the air with his fist and does back-flips off the speaker stack. The eternal optimist would say that this band has grown over the years to form a tight base and a rousing performance ritual but to me that just says, “AVERAGE”. You've gotta ask yourself if that’s good enough.
