Bio
The Hussy's are a brand new indie pop sextet from Glasgow.
Recalling elements of The Rezillos and Catatonia, The Hussy’s burst out of the thriving Glasgow scene last year. Songwriter James rounded up fellow musicians from various pubs and open-mic nights around town. Vocalist Fili is the noughties answer to Cerys Matthews, with Steph (bass), Gordy (drums), Ronnie (guitar) and Greg (keyboards) completing the line-up.
Fast gathering a blistering reputation for their energetic live shows, The Hussy’s are already a big hit in their home town, having sold out both their headline shows at Glasgow’s King Tuts this year. The summer witnessed incredibly well-received appearances at the ‘Wickerman’ and ‘Belladrum’ festival, as well as at XFM’s ‘5 night stand’ series of gigs at Alloa Town Hall in January.
Their punchy indie pop has already resulted in strong radio play, with Steve Lamacq, and Jim Gellatly & Dominik Diamond (XFM) and Janice Long (Radio 2) already pledging their support. Word reached new Sheffield sensations, Little Man Tate about how great The Hussy’s are, so they invited them on tour in October 2006 as main support.
Debut single 'We Expected' / 'Please Don't Call Me At Home' is released on Weekender Records in May 2007.
