sonicflyer started out in the remote town of Barnaul in Southern Siberia, where brother / sister combo Yulia (vocals / lead guitar) and Dima (drums) spent the last few years writing, touring, and building up a strong local following. Frustrated by the absence of a music scene in Russia the pair moved to the UK and recruited Chris (rhythm guitar / keyboards) and Stefan (bass / backing vocals) to complete a new London-based line up for the band.

2007 is starting well for them as they have been Steve Lamacq's Unsigned Band of the Week and have been offered to play at SXSW 2007.
