"We've all been playing in bands since we were like 14, so we have a lot of history. We started out just playing metal covers at friends parties, and things went from there. People came and went, we changed our name a lot. We met people from different musical backgrounds, like DJ's and stuff. We basically kept evolving until we were happy with what we were doing, and decided to take it a more seriously. We formed late '97, did a demo and sent it to Metal Hammer. We were kinda combining every style of music we liked, in no particular order.
We had a DJ and a sax player, just messing round. The demo received a 10/10 review, so we sat back and waited for a deal, ha ha. That never came, so we did a second one, early '98, which was even weirder. That got out to a few zines. But it was all kinda tongue in cheek. Just us fuckin' around. Somehow we got a little feature in Kerrang! and played a Kerrang! night. We spent most of 99 doing other stuff. I graduated and some of the others went travelling etc. When we got back we did a new demo and sent it off to the only record label address we had. They were interested and offered us a deal. A lot of people have said that we shouldn't have gone for the first deal but we just wanted to get out there and not mess about. So far it's been good. We'll see how it goes."
Since then, alot has happened: Their debut thefakesoundofprogress sold brilliantly, and led them on to their second album Start Something. This also sold brilliantly, and led them onto filling stadiums. New album Liberation Transmission also bodes well for sales. Great.
