Puddle Of Mudd cite inspiration from artists such as Alice In Chains, Radiohead and Tom Waits, with their music amplifying these various influences to give them a rock guitar based sound with a strong commercial edge to it. Their singer’s voice has already had comparisons drawn with Kurt Cobain by various music media commentators while the band’s music is described alongside the sounds of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. More realistically speaking, they sound more like an idiot's version of Silverchair with the po-faced knobbishness of Bush. Only worse.
