CAndiES was born as a duo in early 1996. They recorded the first tape after some rehersing in April 1996 and after that they did some concerts around the north of Italy. Then a bassist came in and the band is now a bass-guitar-drums trio. Afterwards other 2 other tapes were printed with new tracks. The last studio experience was with David Lenci (sound tecnician from Uzeda) when CAndiES recorded 3 new songs. One of them was on a 80's cover compilation "La Cattedrale Vs 80s" that was assembled by the italian Black and White - Cattedrale label.
Sad Neon Light a 7" together with a song taken from the out-of-print demo and a live from an itailan tv show. In the following succesful tour CAndiES had the chance of doing some opening slot for Calexico, Ulan Bator, Trumans Water and Afterhoutrs.
CAndiES are now back with a new-long-awaited-full-length album ">leaving our homes". Songs and instruments were pounded through 4 years sharing hard work (their jobs) and playing (their fun). It was recorded very cheaply in their rehersal room by Pippo Barresi (something between an italian Steve Albini eating Jim O'Rourke spaghetti). Some of these songs will have some guest appearances of quite-long-time friends of the band, more precisely John Convertino and Volker Zander formerly of CALEXICO, Kevin Brastetter of TRUMANS WATER.
