Life changing albums?
(These are just off-hand):
The Minutemen "Double Nickels on the Dime"- full of energy and quick ditties
that kept me moving at 16-17
The Cure (anything)- kept me sad and happy from 14-16 (and again now)
Ida "I Know About You" (Downtown)- beautiful, beautiful music
Run DMC (anything)- got me into rap for a long time from 5th grade to 7th or
8th grade. Loved it. It opened up the doors to all other rap and hip hop.
A Tribe Called Quest (a mix tape someone made for me once of a bunch of
songs)- listened to it to stay sane on tour in Japan, so i wouldn't have to
listen to anymore indie rock for a 9 days. it was sooo soothing.
Jawbreaker "24-hour Revenge Therapy"- the best thing i ever heard at 16-18
... i think it was the soundtrack to every relationship during my first
year in college..
