Randy

Signed to label: Burning Heart
From: Sweden

Randy is firecrackers and red balloons. A street orchestra that plays a tune. Randy is redflags, blackflags and flags with stars, with slogans painted on their guitars. They speak about freedom, and they speak about war. With a vision we just can't ignore… Randy formed in the early nineties, and they soon became the fast, energetic punkband that can be heard on their first albums. 1995 brought their first full-length release entitled "There's No Way We're Gonna Fit In". The sound was hard and fast, and the lyrics had a strong political, revolutionary, red message. This political touch has always stayed within Randy, even if the music has continued to develop. In 1996 they released "The Rest is Silence". The goal was to make the fastest punkrecord ever made, and as far as I know, they succeeded. According to the members this should have been their first record. A lot of touring followed, including a one-month tour with Lagwagon in Europe. From this time and onwards Randy has been a heavily touring band; first conquering Sweden, later Scandinavia, Europe, and the World. After this period the band went through some changes: a new label (Ampersand), and a new bass player. This also seemed to have an effect on their sound, and Randy found a new, even stronger energy in their new beat. In 1998 they released "You Can't Keep a Good Band Down" (also released in the US and Canada by the G7 Welcome Committee). The Boys had really come together as a band and found that special spirit that every band searches for. "You can't..." was well received in media and among fans all around the world. The Randy members are still proud of this one. The songs, the sound, and their newfound energy together with their anarchistic, hard-hitting lyrics turned Randy into a tremendous live act. This is the band we all know as Randy today.
