Zoidberg

Marty (guitar, vocals, sequencing) and Matt (guitar, vocals) collaberated almost year after TAR (late Aberdeen noise-mongers) split up. The last gig was a huge success, pulling a big crowd and selling a heap of CDs. However, the band went their seperate ways. Matt moved to Birmingham to work and wrestle, whilst Martin stayed in Aberdeen, continueing his long time musical project, The Kanedas.

Marty, proudly armed with his Westone guitar and Max (his Yamaha RM1X), kept in contact with Matt and the two kept each other updated with social happenings through the mighty internet. Somewhere along the way the idea was pitched to form a sort of 'internet' band', where ideas and riffs would be exchanged over the internet and eventually, songs would be created. The idea was to use the internet as a communication tool and to promote various freeware and shareware programs found on the internet.

Many ideas were floated around for the name of the band, and eventually, Zoidberg, was chosen.

Marty and Matt set about exchanging ideas, recording their own songs, and creating a presence on the web. Their style varies between nu-wave, punk and metal, with influences ranging from Atom and his Package and Devo, to Gwar and Big Dumb Face, to Cake and The Moog Cookbook.

Zoidberg have now planned a split single release with Motormark and plan to tour with them in the near future. They'll pull HUGE crowds!
