Brilliantine are some ten years old now, but like a fine wine, they do truly improve with age. Actually forget that cliched as FUCK last sentence. Essentially Brilliantine have been writing some of the best pop songs ever penned whilst record labels lick their own arseholes oblivious to this. They truly are the kids choice and you'd be hard pushed to find a bunch of people with a greater ear for a hook or a melody as these people. Previously known as 'The Rolf and Cindy Band', and something of an indie pop institution in Sunderland, they dropped this frankly ridiculous moniker some three years back and decided to name themselves after a hair product used by the kind of old men that hang out in bus stations. Imagine Teenage Fanclub, The Lemonheads, Sebadoh and Big Star fucking in a bath of butter. Imagine feeling happier then you've ever felt whilst a wave of glitter dust fills your ears.
