*Our bassist, Sam Bradshaw has temporarily left the band so Sam Ray is going from rhythm guitar to bass to fill in for a while!

Brief Band History:
Emission have been together since November 1998. It all started when Nim and original bassist Hellie met in their college canteen and were discussing their bands. Hellie was in a band called 'Cabbage' with Drum Boy and their guitarist had just quit. Nim was in 'Fruitless Lovejuice' with Sam and they were missing a drummer. Sam wanted to go from bass to guitar, so what happened next was kinda perfect, the four of them joined forces and formed Emission! Matt joined as the bands drummer in September 2000 when Hellie left the band. Drum Boy's first love is bass, so he became the bassist. His best friend, Matt, came to practice to see what the chemistry would be like. Luckily, it turned out really well, and Matt completed the Emission line up that we know and love to date! We don't currently have any releases, but we've got a live demo we recorded at practice for people who are interested!!!

Influences:
It differs. Me and Sam Ray are influenced by early Green Day and MxPx. Mainly anway. Matt doesn't really like either of those bands so his infulences lie in Nirvana, Korn and Deftones. Which brings a few different sounds to the band.

Life Changing Albums:
For me (Nim), it's 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours by Green Day. It was the first 'punk' record I heard in 1995 and have been into it since.

Future plans:
Right now we're planning on practicing some more, and hoping by summer to of recorded an ep. Gigs will probably come about the same time.
