According to their label, Too Pure, Shooting At Unarmed Men emerged "from the debris of Mclusky (Jon Chapple), the haunts of various damp, dark basement clubs (Simon Alexander), and the forging of drum power through seven grades of piano teaching (Steve Morgan). Shooting At Unarmed Men bring you tunes you can whistle, dance or fight to, depending on your preference, consumption or IQ level".

Bassist Simon Alexander Was recently by new boy Simon Jarvis shortly before the release of album Yes! Tinnitus! and Chapple ran off to Australia, leaving the project on hiatus.
