Stephen Ramsay and Catherine McCandless are Young Galaxy. They have island roots, island people, and island places of sanctuary. From the West Coast of British Columbia’s Vancouver Island they, and their music, are informed by high tide, guitars at bonfires, and cedars fogged in.

In September 2004 Young Galaxy relocated to Montreal. They recorded their debut album The Holy Coast between Summer 2005 and Spring 2006, with contributions from members of The Besnard Lakes, The Dears, Stars, Patrick Watson, A Silver Mt. Zion ...

Young Galaxy have been signed by Arts & Crafts with the album release due in spring 2007.
