15mins in, anyone else listening?
but it's hardly going to be mind blowing is it? Just his standard bleepy fair that is pleasant but lets not try and make an event out of it
they even let people like me to 6Mix mixes http://www.mixcloud.com/seaninsound/the-children-of-eno-dis-6mix-for-6music/
TONIGHT THE MONKEY DIES
this was the tracklisting for the full show http://drownedinsound.com/news/4141328
now really enjoying this and feel guilty
I also expected a bleepy and glitchy mix, because it's Thom, and that's the main stereotype about him.
that we shouldn't make an event out of it. I am a Radiohead and Thom Yorke, but I have started to hate it when people blow some events completely out of proportion.
It's a good mix so far, and I'll have to revisit it tomorrow cause I didn't catch the first 30 min., but it's just a mix.
HOW CAN THIS BE
Thanks for that, I haven't laughed that much all day today! :)
I really enjoyed the office chart lists on the 6 website so really looking forward to hearing some interesting stuff here
he's just dropped some LOW
we really should award some 'DiS points"
this Zomby track is bonus level stuff!
that you can redeem on pub jukeboxes
What have I missed so far?
also mute it, but it'd be worth it
exactly as I expected but I'm up for a challenge tonight.46 next B'day , I'm cool as F'ish
I mean it sounds as lovely as Burial always does, but the intact singing seems a bit out of place
it's odd how the bulk of it is instrumental, bar the thom/radiohead remixes....
and he plays the Low Anthem immediately haha
that he was in pre-recording his 6mix, I'd have presumed he was reading this thread ;-)
I know it's from Druqks, but I can't for the life of me remember the name.
Can anyone remember any of the actual names?
I actually totally forgot about the incomprehensible track names. I haven't had that album on in years.
The one with all the RnB voices? I think....
I quite like it but the one Radiohead song he plays is basically a solo track from him anyway, somewhere Ed O'Brien is sobbing quietly.
that's me told
i kinda feel like we should make Thom a thank-you mixtape of stuff he might like... what would you put on it?
I think he would like the entire album cause it's kinda ambient idm.
since I still feel somewhat a tourist in his domain of electronica, not sure I could suggest anything new to him anyway
he's generally pretty up on the good stuff from the scene. Sommething the remix series has really shown off on the new album.
and then write "sorry it isn't worthy music" on the label
but it seems to me that most of this mix was played in the Boiler Room this Tuesday.
may not bother revisiting that bit if that's so, not that surprised haha. Generally enjoyed that a lot though
People saying that he doesn't know how to mix, blablabla. It was good, nothing great, also it's short, 30 min.
I also enjoyed, at least the bits I've heard, cause my fucking internet connection keeps breaking!
I have plenty of time at a computer tomorrow.
but the Weatherall and Erol Alkan ones that are up on the iPlayer were both better imo
Better than his mix in the Boiler Room, IMHO.

You know DJs who can mix 2011, just my favourites so far mind...
that's so rockist, man
Though I understand your point
He was properly shite last time I heard him attempt it.
he pulled off a cracker with that one.
He's always been better in recorded mixes rather than live, from what I've heard anyway.
even with the recorded ones. No flow to it at all and some really jarring segues...
You don't even need to be able to beatmatch with DAWs they generally do it for you.
Sequencing is key. if the tunes don't work well together it doesn't matter how 'fly' you are on turntables or Ableton.
If there's no flow, no build or atmosphere, then it'll either be dull, annoying or jarring and it'll inspire switching off or going to the bar depending on where you're flinging tunes.
it and separating the tracks? Ta in advance.
when he's been interviewed about his DJing he tends to call himself an amateur. I thought the selection was top stuff however
streaming or otherwise? or even a playlist?
