this is bloody brilliant isn't it?
NO WAIT WHAT AM I SAYING
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS RECORD
i have so much i want to say about this album but i need to get some sleep so i'll just say...
I had my doubts as to how adequately they'd go about following up Gangs but this, this has completely blown me away. There is so much going on, it never really sits down and rests on the same bit of music (that's awful wording) and I'm loathe to stop paying attention lest i miss something awesome. I'm a big fan of the decision to include vocals, not just vocals but actual words and phrases one can sing/yell, it's really paid off and i can't believe how wonderfully asiwyfa it still comes across as :D (again, awful wording). Most of all,I love the pure positivity that it seems to be reeking of. S/T had a few “moodier” pieces and Gangs had Homes ...but this is well, as the title suggests, Bright the whole way through :D
Of course, it's a shame for the band that it's leaked so early. They must be gutted. I'm not though, this album has “arrived” just at the right time i needed something new, cheerful and awesome to get lost in.
TL:DR = ASIWYFA <3
With repeated one liners in a few of the tracks, eg “The sun is in our eyes” “We know that that's not the way home” “A! M! B! U! L! A! N! C! E!”. Ka Ba Ta Bo Da Ka is based around those sounds, Rats on Rock is the only track that has what resembles proper lyrics (with proper haircuts) and the singing in that only goes on for about fifteen seconds! I don't know who sings.
<3 this band so much.
What did you think of the album?
thanks to my internet crashing halfway through transaction. :S
Just got Like A Mouse on repeat \m/
But I also want to find out which other new song they did at the Benefit show other than Like A Mouse, before I forget what it sounded like. SO WEAK.
