Anyone heard Donkeystock? it's a slow burner but well worth the time there my top tip for 06 still haven't seen em live shall definetly be at Rough Trade on saturday.

  • was bidding on this on ebay..

.... but lost. I shall hear it one day though!

    • I saw them

Support the Magic Numbers last year, and they were the best band on the bill.

      • Bidding on Ebay?!!!

I have two copies by accident

Yeah the strongest point is the vocalist - the richest voice I've heard in a long time. The songs can be a bit samey on the album though.

        • I've only ever heard them live

once at Truck in a tiny little tent where they managed to charm the crowd by warming everyone up from the inside out, and again at the Green Man on the main stage where they played to a lazy lying on the grass more spread out audience. Good summer sun music.

I can see the point about it all sounding abit samey though.

Great lead vocalist and nice horn section.

          • pretty much agree

the vocalist has a stunningly good voice and I think that charming is a pretty accurate descripton of their live performances. and again a little bit more variety with the songs would be nice but they def have a solid base to make something really really great out of

            • don't forget the slow burn factor

i thought it was a bit samey to begin with but i'm hooked now listen to donkey stock repeatedly and it all starts to make sense. I'm looking forward to saturday plus it's a freebie.
they have some songs to play on myspace.com/donkeystock
