Oh my lord, this is something. Guitars whizzing past like Fireblades in the night; drums coming on like motorboats smashing into rocks; words spat out so fast it takes a few seconds just to get the joke.

This world belongs to Untitled Musical Project. Sure, it’s dark in here and there are cobwebs just about everywhere, but there’s a brightness in the corners. Pick up a newspaper and you’ll see that Weller and McCartney have just been killed in a freak helicopter crash and Prince Charles has just come out of the closet on The Paul O’Grady show. The ‘80s never happened (well, except for the Pixies). Oh yeah, and Mclusky’s ...Do Dallas is still at number one and tonight The Fall are finishing up a two-week residency at Wembley Arena.

Sounds like heaven? Don’t get too comfortable. UMP’s songs only last long enough to give you a frustratingly brief glimpse at the filthy pleasures of this promised land. “Being on the dole isn’t rock and roll!” chants lead racketeer Kieran during the self-explanatory warcry of 'I Don’t Need You Honey! All I Need Is Rock And Roll'. He speaks the truth.

Totally unphased by the idea of stomping all over rock’s golden cows (‘I May Not Be Jimi Hendrix But At Least I’m Still Alive’ – yeowwch), this freshfaced threesome bring you punk in its original, snotty form, smartened up and spat back into your grotty parents’ faces. Let them show you their land of wicked temptation, just don’t expect to ever want to come back.

These are

full on mint. Reminds me of
80s Matchbox + The Hives + Good.
They probably sound nothing like that but they're still ace.

Cheers for adding the other bands

Never let it be said I'm always a moaning git!;)
