My Alibi
Carefully packaged in a furious frenzy of glaring strobe lights and pummelling bass, My Alibi grace the stage of The Victoria Inn. It’s not often that when bands play here, they think not only of the music, but also the way it’s presented. The heightened moody atmosphere of a carefully planned climatic intro and outro let on that this band are aiming for the stars. Pretty boy juxtaposes thrashing out heaving riffs of adrenaline and emotion-fuelled rawk; My Alibi crave a huge expanse of stage devoted solely to themselves, soaking in smokey streams of vividly coloured light, surrounded by thousands of teenage rock fans.
For now, crammed onto the same familiar stage of a local venue, seething basslines glitter with bitter-sweet harmonies and some of the most mind-softening melodies around. The set climaxes with all guitars slammed dramatically against the low ceiling of a box-like stage, distinct silhouettes freezing against a kaleidoscopic background. The room descends into blackness and the band disappear to the dressing room…
